After reading this post, the theme is now stuck in my head with an itch to watch the movie again. He was, he went really deep into the character and did an amazing job at being what an alien might be like. Not many actors would cover their appearance so fully and then bring in a performance like this. Geezus, that really puts time elapsed into perspective! It's a fantastic production. Watched it a few months ago and it still feels fresh and on its own. Same! Loved the music. No doubt the sequel will embrace AI with an automated form of bidet (the toilets that spray to clean you) using AI sight technology to clean you up. I remember that Peck got pissed off when he was offered a measly $15k to do it, and said for that he would get a couple of cheap gang members to do it who would make mistakes and lead the cops right back to the son. So he tells him to go home and think about it and get back to him in a couple of days. I got the feeling also that he was signalling that he wanted to sleep with the wife as part of the deal, by touching her under the table during the meeting. Watching this movie last night 34 years after seeing it in the cinema, I would agree that today I find Metcalf's intelligent police character a lot more attractive than the other ladies in this. A lot of animals can be trained and are big part of the movie industry. They even have animals trained to do very specific actions. That was the first thing which went through my mind... all that mail going down the toilet! It was fantastic seeing a Jaguar E-Type as the bad guy's car and its noisy exhaust was integral to the story. You did as lot better than me! All I remembered about 3 was the theme park ride with the robot Cylons shooting lasers, the water flooding and the train crashing. Hopefully one day they can make a Star Wars 4.5 where Luke is seen using it. I read a fantastic 4.5 screenplay about 25 years ago where Luke was trying mind-tricks and failing and using his saber at times. It was the source of some moments of comedy in the script. I do enjoy the charm and care that Axel shows with Jenny in the first film and Bogamil's daughter in the second. It certainly shows he knows how to genuinely care for those important in his life. Overall, I like how the four of them struck a great friendship in the years between 1 and 2, but I can see how watching them both together quickly like I did can make that feel a little strange. I actually didn't like the villain in 3. I liked how at the start he so politely asked if his men were okay and that he wouldn't have wanted anyone to get hurt during their heist, and then kills them. But him in the rest of the film doesn't live up to that contrast. The 'women' comment I thought was funny because we hear about Taggart's wife from time to time in the movies and his mixed feelings about her, and it's a bit of a running joke in the films. First time seeing it this week and I enjoyed it. The car chase and shoot out along the beach was a unique touch. Wish they made a sequel where he got another Firebird. I'm going to watch Brannigan next. It reminded me very much of Yes Day. At least it gave us something new as a family to watch together on a weekend night but is not something we'd probably re-watch within a few years. Rick Rossovich. :) Very true. I know a number of people who don't want to marry and who don't want kids, yet are perfectly happy with their lives. They love kids but don't want any of their own. I thought it was a pretty crap film. Was a bit of a mess. That makes perfect sense. Thanks! As a side note, I just watched a new Australian time travel movie last set in my home town called Time Addicts. It was quite amusing with some interesting twists! The humour is not for everyone but being Aussie I connected with it.
