There are definitely some very cheesy, cringey moments in the movie, but tbh they're not a dealbreaker, imo. Theatrical cuts are normally bad, definitely watch the Director's Cut. Another movie that got slaughtered because of a bad Theatrical release was Sucker Punch. Director's Cut is way better. I'm also not a fan of super hero movies (apart from darker ones like this), but this was a solid 7/10. I always feel bad when people watch the theatrical version of a movie first, that's why I don't go to the cinema. Director's Cut is way better and I've never seen the theatrical version! 7/10 from me. It was more of a 'day in the life' kind of movie. For me I was waiting for something more gruesome to happen, so it was sort of edge-of-your-seat watching when it went from scene to scene. So I can appreciate that aspect. But I do enjoy a good plot in movies and there isn't really one, or a very feint one in the whole cat-killing business and they have competition etc. The other stuff is just side-quest stuff that doesn't involve the couple of 'main characters' (if you can call them that). Unfortunately there wasn't really a big pay-off in the end, like how in 'This Is England' (spoiler ahead), there isn't a huge plot in the story, it's a little more of a day-in-the-life of the young boy, but it has a big, shocking 'pay-off' in the end. Again, these movies have a place, especially if they have a pay-off, but the ones that have that calm-before-the-storm feel but don't have any kind of pay-off, I'm not a huge fan of them, so 4/10 from me. Meeehhh I think it has quite a good message: Don't act on impulse, wait for the police/whomever to exhaust all possibilities, even if it's taking a long time. Don't judge a book by its cover, etc. Solid 7/10. Not so much, I think back in '97 it was a little more shocking as people hadn't really seen that kind of thing before. Plus the cats looked very realistic. It seemed like a realistic look into an impoverished US of A tornado-stricken lil town. Bunny was a lucky f**ker kissin' the hot babes at the end, they had some nice bubbies as well! 4/10. A movie that doesn't age very well in terms of the artsy-fartsy vibe, but does give a good - assumingly realistic - glimpse of poverty-stricken children back in the late 90s. I gave House of the Dead 5/10, it was actually hilarious in certain parts of the movie, didn't take itself seriously (similar to Postal), never really slowed down and it kept a steady pace, and it just had a certain charm about it, can't put my finger on what it was exactly, but yea, I kinda just 'felt' it. I think some people rip on Boll movies just because it's Boll, and it's the 'cool' thing to do. Sure he's not a 7+/10-rating kinda movie director, but he does have some solid movies that are at least average/slightly above average. I would say Postal is his best movie. Solid 6/10 for the very, very funny moments in it among other things! True! The 10 or so times I found it funny, it was VERY funny - I haven't laughed like that in a while (tears streaming). It's refreshing to watch a movie in this day and age that isn't so woke and PC - and obviously it's all only joking, but there's no way you could get away with a movie like this nowadays, and that's a real shame. The world is way too serious and PC nowadays, and unfortunately has been like that for many years. I gotta say, I love how Uwe's movies have very realistic guns, blood splatter etc. Not sure how they did it back in the day but nowadays most movies have really bad CGI gun barrel explosions (not sure what the correct terminology is, but when the ball of flame comes out of the end of the gun when someone shoots the gun). And there's no recoil on ANY gun, which is just stupid. And you don't see any blood splatter on impact with people nowadays; boring. This movie really nails the effects. I gave it a very solid 6/10, a movie that didn't take itself seriously, had some very, very funny moments, and great effects. Downsides were it was quite random at times, some moments that tried to be funny but fell flat (especially the terrorists and George Dubya, they weren't very funny), ending could have been better. But yes, solid 6/10. Yea I thought the movie was okay up until she kept waking up or the movie she was acting in hit a 'cut' etc. It just made it confusing after that and I lost interest. Admittedly, the animation was stellar in certain parts of the movie, especially when Mira is pretending to be the pizza delivery guy and stabs the writer or whomever it was, and when Rumi is trying to kill Mira and her face keeps changing when getting choked etc. 5/10 as a whole, though. Rampage 4: Broken CD and Duct Tape Should Do The Trick Lol whaaat? You cried? I laughed. It was ridiculously out of place. You could use that argument but ffs come on, how has Bill suddenly gained this amazing sniping skill without any training? You definitely saved yourself ~1 hour 35 minutes. 3/10, it's a pretty dumb movie overall. The first two kept me more engaged (although the rampage in the first movie did start to get a little boring, but then the cop begins to chase him into the woods and it picks up again). This was pretty boring and stupid, overall. The very very end was quite good where the guy storms in, shoots the newscasters and then says his line and shoots the camera. And them saying on the news cast that all these famous people had been killed, haha 🤣😂🤣. But overall, the message was pretty stupid, confusing, and contradicting in most areas. Especially trying to get the viewer to sympathise with Bill in terms of him not being able to see his child. Like, wut? lol. Also the stupidity of the SWAT team blows my mind. No bomb squads? Like, duh? How many SWAT members need to be blown up in the second and third movie to have them call the bomb squad? 😂 Plus a host of other things. A mid 3/10. The other two movies I rated 5/10s. Yeah, it was a pretty dumb movie overall. 3/10. I saw it as his primary goal was making money, due to his family wanting him to move out, and him being sick of eating at crappy fast-food places, and having to buy crappy coffee from the crappy coffee place, but he needed to go on his 'rampage' so that it looked more like his friend that committed the murders rather than him. With that, he also had a 'reason' to kill people that supposedly 'wronged' him. I think the political stuff was all just a front, again to make it seem like it was his friend that committed the murders and stole (then 'burnt') the money. Bill's video, that we see sometimes through the movie and then at the end, was maybe just a half-hearted attempt at giving political reasons as to why he went out to kill (which subtly probably meant "too many people in the world = I can't make enough money to live a good, comfortable life because they're sucking up all the resources, making things more expensive, etc."), but again, his primary reason was money, imo. Haha I noticed how a lot squirted out and he didn't seem phased by it in his mouth and none of it dripped out of his mouth or anything! LOL hahaha Minus the psychotic nature of the Dr, it's very redpill, definitely. All must be aware that women are very capable of doing this to you (cheating on you and taking everything you've worked for), so protect your three A's: Ahhs (house), Assets, and Ass. I gave the movie a 7/10; original, and the base story (of the female infidel crisis) was realistic. Like you say, women and sheltered men wouldn't understand and just focus on the physical 'horror' aspect of the movie, but any man who has gone through being cheated on or at least has solid foundations in the nature of women will understand this movie.
