I was really surprised how much I liked Furiosa. I haven’t seen a lot of new stuff in the theater this year, but this surpassed my expectations, which admittedly were pretty low. Have you seen the movie? Surprisingly, I loved it. Yes, watch this on the big screen. Great movie. Those big V-8 engines just sound so good in Dolby Atmos. The theater was rock’n at certain points that the HVAC system was rattling. Made for an immersive experience. I wasn’t very interested in seeing this. But it’s one of those movies where I’m glad I was proven wrong. Same, 9/10. Nothing compares to seeing The Road Warrior as a kid in the 80’s with the cloud of nuclear war hanging over you, but Furiosa had some great moments that included that sense of dread of losing something you love (i.e. home). Also, the character of Praetorian Jack just might be my new favorite character (besides The Feral Kid) in the Mad Max world. He presented something rarely found in the wasteland. I saw it with a buddy last night. I grew up watching the original Mad Max movies, with The Road Warrior being my favorite. Maybe it was because I had low expectations and really didn't have much interest in what felt like an unnecessary tangent to the Mad Max "universe", but I have to admit, there were some really great moments throughout this one that elevated my experience. I especially enjoyed a new character they introduced about mid-way through who brought a new aspect to these films, which for me, made this one my second favorite Mad Max movie. For what it's worth, I also think the storyline in Furiosa is probably the most fleshed out of all five movies. I don't expect everyone to agree with this, but it's rare that movie franchises are able to maintain the same level of quality and entertainment value after the first or second film (i.e. Alien/Aliens, Die Hard, etc.), but so far, this one's been different, and I credit George Miller with that. This stood out to me as well. The pacing was all over the place, and those long pauses and lingering shots negatively impacted the viewing experience. Once Upon A Time In The West Hostiles 3:10 to Yuma (original and remake) SPAM Agreed. Those two examples left me with a strong feeling that things were changing. Why do you think Pence is a phony Christian and Trump is a real Christian? Is there something specific Pence has done or not done to make you think that? Trump pushed forward policies that aligned with his conservative Christian base and nominated judges who he felt would support his agenda, so I understand why some may feel that he's one of them. But do you think that alone makes him a Christian and a good one at that? Or do you think it's deeper than that and his faith guides him through everyday life decisions? ^^^This^^^ I’ve been gone 5 years? Do you have me mixed up with someone else? What are the “lies” you speak of? I’m not trying to be an ass, I just think that it’s silly that you’d change the title of your post to the complete opposite of what you originally posted now that box office returns show that your prediction is probably wrong. I know people edit their responses all the time, but yours just seemed to stand out because at the time I thought it would do well, however dumb I thought the movie seemed. People make wrong predictions all the time, so if that’s what you originally thought, you should stick with it. Why did you change the title of your OP though? That's just silly. Laura Holt and Remington Steele Veronica Mars Against the Ice (2022) Arctic (2018) Frozen (2010) While not a movie, The Terror (2018 AMC television series, season one), fits the bill. JoWilli, why do you think Biden should have gone to Florida first? Or do you think that he should have just gone to Florida and not Puerto Rico at all? I like the show. Could it be better? Yes, for sure. I wish the rights were available for the Silmarillion, but they weren't and that has had a negative impact on fleshing out a lot of the back story. On the other hand, even though we were only given some glimpses of the War of Wrath, I never thought any aspects of the Silmarillion that were mentioned in the LOTR Appendices would ever be filmed. So for that alone, I'm happy. I've only watched the two episodes that were released prior to today, so I'm hopeful that after establishing the groundwork for the show we can move onto the Numenorean storyline and their corruption. The Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. I thought Ridley Scott's production company bought the rights several years back, but I haven't heard anything for a while.
