I recall quite clearly that Trump abandoned our allies, the Kurds, quite abruptly, despite knowing that they would be decimated by Turkey.
Aragorn II, Son of Arathorn. Actually, I find most people who are willing to sacrifice themselves so that others may succeed in a noble and just cause is pretty heroic, especially when the likelihood of success is small. Aragorn just seems to epitomize that.
I rather enjoyed Anthropoid - it's about the real life assassination attempt on the third highest ranking German officer, during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. And as someone already mentioned, Downfall was really good. One of my all-time favorites, however, is The Longest Day, despite it's many faults and attempts to sugarcoat the tragedies of war.
