Nope. If you go to Paranormal school, Entity 101 says, in Article 23005-6-09, says ghosts cannot kill people. Demons, however, can kill people.
Seriously, it is yet another flaw in this movie. Why can a ghost throw people around, levitate people, but not kill them? A good, hard impact with the floor can kill someone fast!
Big flaw in this movie. Rarely do we see a movie where a paranormal entity is trying to help someone, yet at first, as you pointed out, Glick's spirit threw Annie around like a ragdoll. Sometimes, friends don't act like friends.
lol i thought it was a funny scene. The girl was more worried about her riding without a helmet.
Not really. It would not make sense to cast them as Jewish, if they are not Jewish in real life. It does nothing for their respective characters. It would not change the storyline in any way.
Cube and Exam are so eerily similar. One of the "participants" are French. The black guy is an a bad guy. There are two, for starters. I liked both movies.
It was a psychological horror flick. We didn't see a devil, a demon, a witch, a vampire, a person with an ax, knife, or chainsaw. We just saw a group of humans doing quite diabolical things to other humans, which is common horror movie out there. It is real life, and not farfetched. It happens.
True. Maybe he had the hots for Iris? He knows how the game is played. Why the sudden concern for Iris, like you asked.
Exactly! They act like it is real, all for a tv show. Same with Ouija: Origin of Evil, where the family conducts saences for money, until they discover the demon when using the ouija board. Now they really do believe in the paranormal.
Spoiler Alert
Yes, the bleak, hopeless situation made this movie so dark and foreboding. The food rotting, the time totally skewed, like it was nighttime 24-7, the lack of a way out of the hospital, etc. The demon woman in the bathroom was GNARLY!!!! The spirits manipulating wheelchairs, bed frames, doors, and even the girl's hair was really unnerving! The ending, where the good doctor's office was revealed, was the spookiest, bleakest part. Yikes! A really disturbing horror movie!
The actions of Iris mimic what Alison in Drag Me To Hell went through. Total selfishness. She sacrificed her kitten in order to remove the curse the old hag had put on her.
yes! just think in your head, "it is only a horror movie!" It is not real. It is not a representation of real life. It is a bleak film, but "film" is the key word!
I have watched many horror movies, where the good guys win at the end. I have watched many horror movies, where the villain wins the battle, and the good guys lose at the end. This is simply what this movie is, a horror film, where the good guy, or good side, meaning Iris, loses at the end. Her brother committed suicide, after she went through a great deal of both physical, as well as psychological pain, trying to win a bunch of money to help him as he fights leukemia. It is quite a WTF horror film, with lots of sick, twisted dialogue and surprise events. I liked this movie a whole lot, and i remind myself over and over, that it is JUST a movie. It isn't real! Thank goodness it is not real!!! My faith in humanity is still down, but never out! As long as this movie is not a representation of real life, I will recommend this movie to family and friends, and i will watch movies similar to it, like Cube, and The Exam.
Yep. That whole rescue by the good doctor was an epic fail. He didn't even have the sense to be careful. He just shows up, tells Iris that he is going to get her outta there, was wrong about her, etc. and BOOM!
She was fine as hell, but she was a biyattttch!! The most unlikable character in the movie. Even the host had some charisma!
Awesome line! Also, when Dagget said "God Damn you!" He was like "You gotta learn to watch that profanity!"
Which lines uttered by Christopher Walkenm, in any one of his films, AREN'T awesome? It is interesting that he was an angel in this movie, and in the comedy "Click", he was the angel of death. He is a fricken LEGEND and one of my favorite actors EVER!!
If someone came into a room, where a tv or video screen was showing this movie, right at that point where Simon breathed Hawthorne's soul inside the girl, someone, most anyone, would think "Is this guy a pedophile, or what??" Same with Gabriel sitting kids on his knee, looking into their mouths, and having them blow on his trumpet. You gotta know what is going on before making a judgment like that, but i am sure many assumptions would say ?"Eww! They're pedophiles!"
Yes, Jack is up there on the list of best movie devils!
i have heard the term "wrench in the spokes", as if to throw something in the spokes of a bike as someone is riding it, causing it to either skid to a halt (throwing the wrench in the back spokes), or making the rider fly over the handlebars (throwing the wrench in the front spokes). Maybe when he said "Monkey in the wrench", he meant to say "Monkey wrench in the spokes" of what Gruber had planned.
The question i have is this. John realized Clay was Gruber. He had more than one gun on him, i think. He coulda shot Gruber dead right then and there and helped save the day.
