Yeah pretty much around the time The Real World kicked off and they started moving away from music videos. VH1 followed them not too long after. Even CMT went the same route. I just use Youtube now to watch new music videos.
It reminded me of Lancelot charging the castle in The Holy Grail.
36. There's always another never-heard-of-before level at GD when needed to help push the plot along.
I think on The Dukes of Hazzard, they just started using a little model car for the stunts. Wrecking vehicles can get pricey.
Kind of on the same page. With all of that intelligence, sometimes it just takes a person of action to get the job done. I think it is the same in the real world.
I don't think the movie is that deep, but Eddie barely passes as a civilized man. Crossing him would only bring more pain and suffering on Aunt Edna. Clark is a man that can be relied on, and she takes advantage of it.
I had never seen it before. Didn't realize Debbie and Donald starred in a movie together outside of Singing in the Rain. It was a treat.
Almost won't offend anybody, as there is a brief scene in a dance number where Donald O'Connor is making fun of Asian people (while he is trying on different outfits). It's no Breakfast at Tiffany's, but in today's pc world, you'd never see that scene in a new movie.
Anything with Debbie Reynolds in it is worth watching. Glad I dug it up (not Debbie, the movie).
I guess I'll need a higher res version of this movie next time I watch it.
Sex in a movie is fine if it drives the plot. 9 out of 10 HBO / Showtime sex or nudity scenes are just to give guys in the audience something to look at. Now that we have pornhub, it is kind of irrelevant. 30 years ago, some of us relied on HBO to show us what boobs looked like. Not anymore.
I keep hoping that they do, and I keep watching in sadness. I didn't get much out of this particular flick.
Ooo I liked V. Watched that as a kid and it was 100x better. You're right though, same concept where the aliens were draining Earth of all the resources.
I understand what you are saying, but what is her obligation to confirm on her part who she is having consensual intercourse with? Would the situation be the same if she went into a dark bedroom and had sex with the man sleeping in the bed only to find out afterwards that it was Louis and not Stan? Would Louis be convicted of rape for laying there and being mounted? Now we all know what Louis did was wrong, but is it the fact that Louis had the opportunity to correct her about his identity that makes it rape? Is withholding of information concerning one's identity sexual assault?
Nudity / sex was only relevant in that it keeps a certain segment of the viewership interested. Of course it was alive and well in the 13th century, but it did nothing to drive the plot of the show.
I got about halfway through and had to quit. It was different, that's for sure.
I got through the first season, but I don't think I will watch the rest. Now Rick and Morty? Love it! I let it play most nights while I fall asleep.
Mooncake was an enjoyable character, that I must admit.
I think he is saying girls are weak, which is why they weep. That, or girls do not belong in the future.
I didn't realize there were new fans of Star Trek. I always thought they were attempting to bring me back and having mediocre success.
I'm thinking we probably see TOS and TNG similarly. They had great story lines that could mostly be wrapped up in one episode with a message. But I also think they would have been darker and more violent if they were not made in the 1960s for CBS.
He certainly took advantage of them. Also, red shirt is just a catch-all now for people who died on the show. Most episodes had someone either dying or being tortured, and if not, then certainly beat up. Violence and sex were a big part of TOS. Also, is there such a thing as nutrek fans (is that short for new trek)?
Yes, finally! I got what I wanted. This was some good stuff. I'll actually rewatch Season 3 at some point. It will be the first Star Trek that I have rewatched since Enterprise (and that not too much, more so Voyager and before).
