AND EVERY COWBOY SINGS A SAD, SAD SONG.
The power to heal mortal wounds is a power that some Jedi might think are..... unnatural.
If he had the money and the bus had exploded, he would have fled to some non extradition country with a tropical climate and enjoyed his retirement.
Of course he wouldn't set up another bomb, he would have no need too.
Unless he was just that psychotic that he would set more bombs just for fun, which he made clear in this movie that he wasn't.
He was either exaggerating the mayors instructions, or he just misunderstood them. The Mayor didn't believe the Ghostbusters and wanted them shut up and stay out of sight. It was Jack's job to do that, and since the guys were openly talking about going to the press, he had to take drastic action to stop them. So he told the Dr. that the guys were a danger to the community and themselves and need to be institutionalized.
Or the Mayor simply didn't care what the Ghostbusters told the press, he just wanted them out of the Gracie Mansion. He probably figured they would be proven wrong, exposed as frauds and would go away. Jack thought he wanted them silenced and committed them.
I would go 8/10 as well. I've loved this one as a kid and recently caught it on tv, and was surprised by how much I still enjoyed it. The only real knock on this movie vs the original is that this one is more family friendly. While this one is a true PG movie, the first would have been PG-13 had that existed.
Well he had no friends at the start of the ride, but he bought himself one with Ron, which led to him gaining a surrogate family that loved him, and marrying Jennie, so in the end it paid off.
Besides, if anyone was upset about the lack of sweets and confronted Harry about it, I'm sure he would have said "Well here you, on me."
Her more than anybody should have followed Ricky Gervais's advice. Thank your agent, God, co-stars, producers, family, and get off the stage and fuck off.
The advantage the F&F movies have over SW, is that their fans for the most part all want the same things from their movies. We know what we want from the F&F, and they know what we want, so they make movies based on that. Everyone knows what they're going to get when to go see one of their movies, and we all walk away satisfied.
Considering they were 100% white male at all levels in the OT, this is big step in the right direction. They might not be quite there yet, but they are moving in the right direction, and had they been given another 5-10 years, they might have become one of those companies that gets praised for their diversity.
He was trying to swing at them and fight them off, there were just to many of them, and they were stabbing him.
He also stood up straight and spoken more coherently when Tywin told him that he knew it was all an act.
Do you know what "your book" isn't??? Disney's books. They are quite fine with $200M profits, and more than likely they will make more than that on this movie. As long as they break even, then they're fine because they still own this movie and all the other property forever. Which means they will always be making money on it, regardless if they put anymore money into it.
The RiffTrax episodes are hilarious. The guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000 made audio tracks that you can download and watch with the movies, and they just rip apart all of the movies.
Worth noting that the two biggest blunders in the Imperial Navy were done by officers, and not Stormtroopers. First was the Imperials on the Star Destroyer, who chose not to destroy the escape pod because there were no life forms on board. Then on Endor, the Commander in charge of the shield generator completely buys Han's rouse, and opens the backdoor for them. Didn't even ask for an ID of the AT-ST pilot, or his current position. Just opened the door and allowed his last reserves to be captured. Also he didn't seem very concerned by the fact that he had lost all radio contact with every walker.
Why does anyone care if Disney lost money? They obviously don't. Even if they are losing that much money (I doubt it) they were able to cover it else where, and aren't going out of business. Their stock price hasn't taken the hit, so they'll just move on business as usual. Even if they decided not to put another dollar into Star Wars, and just ride the wave of DVD sales, merchandise, streaming, video games, and theme parks, then it will always be an endless cash stream for them, since they already covered the cost to pay for it.
Also, Star Wars has provided other values to Disney that are much more difficult to measure. First the theme parks have been packed since opening. Now its impossible to measure how much of that is the result of the new Star Wars land, but it has given a much needed boost to a park that needed one, and will continue to do so for years. And then there's Disney+. Having the Star Wars catalog is one of the major pillars to its immediate success, along with Marvel, Pixar and 20th Century Fox. Again, its impossible to know how much SW added to that success, but it was definitely an important piece of it, most notably The Mandalorian.
I can see the influence and what you're saying, but I don't think its an apples to apples comparison. Roger was a cartoon character in our world, doing wacky and zany stunts and gags for laughs in a comedy movie. But that is what he was supposed to be doing. Jar Jar is a CGI creation that we're supposed to believe is a flesh and blood being, just like the people around him. While he was a technical marvel for his time, he still wasn't quite believable as a real being. And while his purpose was to provide comedic relief to an other wise serious movie, his slapstick and blundering was just to out of place.
Also, unlike Jar Jar, Roger has some genuinely funny moments that I can still laugh at as an adult. Like sticking his eyes thru the peak holes and knocking over the beer, slipping his hands out of the handcuffs despite him and Eddie having been stuck together for hours. Then one confusing prostate and probate.
I was referring to Leatherface. Leatherface was hurt to badly to pursue the truck driver. The driver just kept running, and hopefully got lucky and another car was coming along shortly.
"Our next presenter was in a movie called Bird Box, where people must walk around with blindfolds on, in order to not see the horrors of what's going on around them. It must have been like working for Harvey Weinstein..... OH FUCK OFF YOU ALL KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON!!!
While you are right that there were plenty comic book movies and tv shows prior to it, Batman was different. It was dark and gritty, and didn't have the cheesiness of its predecessors. It was like they put a super hero in a more realistic world.
Also the way it was marketed and cross promoted was unlike anything before it, and has been duplicated many times since, most notably Star Wars. Batman was everywhere in the months before and after its release. Even on toys, which was strange for a PG-13 movie.
Maybe they figured by the 7th season the show was pretty much done anyways. Not many shows last that long, not even hits.
I thought he was dead before Cobra Kai. Imagine my surprise.
