How do you know the way Hitchcock wanted them to act? Y'all don't seem to realize that was the whole point. It's gothic and the actors acted the way they were supposed to I agree with the OP but the whole thing is kind of ironic overall ????? I've explained myself very thoroughly. It isn't my fault if you can't understand something very simple.I'm sorry you feel the need to complicate things. What time are you losing exactly? You didn't respond for even a month and you give extremely vague replies. You choose to spend time on this site. I'm not insulting you just because I argue.it's your problem if you feel insulted. But you're not giving any valid arguments Though I was replying to him, it was still meant to regard the post and strictly parenthood rather than gender roles As someone who can legally vote but is young and has no kids, I feel as though I have no business voting. Yes, it's my right, but in a way there's a good point in letting parents have more decision. Parents have a lot more experience in life. Of course the problem with the scenario is that it's very subjective. Lots of controlling, evil people exist in all circles, but if we're talking in more general terms it has more validity. That actually isn't completely true. I think the media generally found her attractive, but unfortunately behind the scenes directors and producers thought she was ugly. Personally I think she was very pretty Me? I completely agree that Jamacains are black. I just meant her father specifically is not despite living there. Like I said, light skinned people still culturally identify as black Nvm I see he's light-skinned. Still doesn't necessarily mean he isn't black culturally but yeah not skin color wise What about non leftist minorities that choose not to let race define them? Is Jamaican not black? I certainly don't think you're a racist. I will say that I personally like black films as a white person. Meaning ,films starring predominately black actors made by a black director/writer or a white one. For example, Friday is a movie based solely around black culture that I really turned out to like. Most black people like it. I also like Tyler Perry films even though a lot black people turn away from them despite him targeting that demographic. They still cater to both black and white audiences. I don't mind the black sounding dialogue. I find it funny and part of the culture. I love that I can enjoy movies that aren't made for me, but also understand why other people don't. Still, a good movie is a good movie no matter what and it seems like that's what you're saying in your post It gives us a glimpse into a different outcome to a scenario, plus enhances the main character's development by the end It's important to the plot Yes I believe he said he was willing to share with the public, just never got around to it. He could always upload it to YouTube for people to watch? Might be crappy quality but worth watching and better than nothing. I'm also not sure if he'd actually be allowed to with copyright issues and all that? It seems quite considerate on their part to be able to want to give a role better suited to that person, but I still kind of understand him feeling upset. The problem still lies therein that how many non white filmmakers were given as much opportunity back in the day? Possibly not much. I will say Hughes probably could've educated himself a little and been more open to it, but at the same time, at the end of the day, he did his job. He preferred to write about only what he knows because he thought it was best, and that's still okay St. Elmo's reminded me a lot of John Hughes but with more sex and swearing. Also he delved more into the teen territory more so than college aged storylines I actually recognize the OP's name now. I also just realized he used the term "white-washed," so clearly he doesn't even know what that actually means. I forgot he wrote some of these films. Maid In Manhatten is horrible, but I'm sure that's due to him not directing it. I love Home Alone, grew up on it. Some Kind Of Wonderful and Uncle Buck are also personal favorites. Is this list supposed to be your ranking? I 100% agree with you. Good movies are just good movies and can be watched by anyone, no matter who they are. I'm white and I like "black movies." I just love movies man.
