BFD. The first step in getting to a better world where we can ignore twitter is to ignore twitter.
Guess she better be careful, or there could be serious repercussions - like having MTV make a show of rescinding her 2018 MTV Movie Award. What a blow that would be.
I thought Brigitte Nelson was awful. She had no charisma or presence at all. It's like the producers said "tall model, that's good enough'.
Hannah isn't very "black". Her skin looks about the same as an Italian or light skinned Hispanic. Depends on the lighting, but if you look through her pictures at IMDB she doesn't look very black to me. Its not like they went with a dark as night Somalian in the role.
Where is the reporting that she won't have red hair coming from? Have the producers actually said that, or are people just assuming based on the actress? They could easily give Hannah red hair, and I think they should.
You aren't going to get an attractive woman with the physique to actually handle a heavy sword. Just isn't going to happen. Since Red Sonja is blessed by a goddess, I can buy the character not looking like a steroid freak. I think the character should look athletic and sexy. Hannah's okay for that. They could have gone with Sofia Boutella and that would work too. I don't like this idea of not making her a red head though.
Gedren was way hotter than Sonja. And they didn't even give her sexy outfits. They wasted Sandahl Bergman in this role, imo. Even so, she's got far more sex appeal than Red Sonja in this movie.
I wonder if the episodes on Amazon Prime are edited. I just watched the first two, and the only nudity I saw was a brief shot of Belle's ass as she gets into bed naked at the end of episode 2. At the orgy/swinger party or whatever it was, there was a woman who was topless but has pasties over her breasts.
Given the subject matter, barely any nudity at all.
I'm curious about alternate versions of this. I watched it on Vudu. It's listed as 118 minutes, but the movie seemed pretty tame. A few sexual situations, but almost no nudity. One very brief shot of some extra's breasts when two women are in bed with Merivel shortly after he is at court.
There is a comment at IMDB talking about the wedding night (between Merivel and Celia) and how the revelers are chanting "fuck her well, fuck her well". That's not what I heard at all. In the version I watched they chant "Merivel, bed her well".
That's disappointing. I love the first Conan movie. Just watched Destroyer again last night, and within 1-2 minutes the jokey tone is evident and you know you're in for a pale lightweight imitation.
Sarah Douglass (Queen Taramis) is pretty much the only thing I like about this movie. She's super sexy, and makes a great evil villain babe (just like in Superman II). It sucks that the studio neutered this one from the start.
BTW, what's up with the name? Is it Ariadne or Adriana? IMDB credits the role as Adriana, and her name is also listed that way on the back of my blu-ray.
I always took it that he projected to a place in outer space in order to commune with Daedelus. He exists on Earth, obviously, but through his "science" would transport to a realm where he could communicate directly with supernatural beings.
But it is confusing. They talk about Thebes being a kingdom with 90 cities, and mention Atlantis. It seems like sometime characters travel through space to get there, but Adriana (Sybil Danning) sails there on a boat with Cassiopeia after kidnapping her.
Sybil Danning always looks terrific. One of the best "hot/evil chick/sorceress" types of the decade.
I really like the movie, but I would certainly have welcomed some more T&A as was typical of "exploitation" movies back then. Great looking cast, would have loved to see more of them.
Jack Hill has said in interviews they kept out most of the nudity (there are two very quick bits, maybe about 3 seconds total) because his intent was to make a PG film. But he didn't know that the MPAA policy at the time was that if a movie had drugs as an element, it was an automatic R rating. So he toned down the sex/nudity for nothing. And this probably accounted partly for its poor performance box office wise. People went in looking for an exploitation film, and didn't get their fix, so it didn't get good word of mouth.
It's certainly well regarded now, though.
I also think there may be multiple versions. I saw it on Amazon Prime, where it is listed as R and has an 84 minute run time. But it was released in some overseas markets under the name "Sadie" and the German blu-ray has a 95 minute run time, which is quite a difference. I'd like to see the more explicit version if I can.
Io for sure. Andromeda wasn't even as hot as as her mom, Cassiopeia (Polly Walker).
It's very much in the vein of 70's Euro-sleaze/horror. Think Jess Franco or Jean Rollin, then you might like this. You've got two beautiful women and you see a good bit of them. Add in the great location, and I enjoyed it.
I'd be surprised if there wasn't a slim saddle hidden under her legs and crotch. Don't think she was actually bareback. Not even sure that was Bo Derek, as her face is obscured from the side and covered by her hair until they cut to a close up.
Don't agree at all. I think she's one of the worst (and least appealing) "bond girls" in the whole series.
False premise. They work just fine. The first one, at least.
I agree. MI:2 was awful. Just eye-rolling bad.
Better in b&w? Not a chance. Reduce the striking redhead to a shade of gray? No thanks.
She was pretty smoking hot in this. Even with that short hair.
