I think I missed the LeeMall era but I remember you guys talking about him. I'd always assumed he and Ah_Fan were the same poster.
Yeah, I hope this site eventually gets emoticons. I miss all my sarcastic smilies, LOL!
Oh, yes...oh, yes...
If this were IMDB right now this thread would have already been deleted and you, me, TJ, Ranma and the others would all have red letter warnings from IMDB to play nice. XD
I'm not knocking Jake himself--he's a fine enough actor--I just don't see him as Batman...at ALL. Seriously strange casting choice. I see a lot of potential characters in Jake but Bruce Wayne is probably the last thing I'd ever see in him.
We've got BillBrown here. Too bad we don't have Ah_Fan then--BillBrown always wiped the floor with that little turd nugget. XD
LMAO!!! Is that little turd hanging around here or is he with the other trolls on that IMDB2 board?
A Zemeckis superhero film would be awesome!
That was me! Did we converse there?
Yeah, Man of Steel and especially BVS really left a taint. The soup's been p!ssed in and no amount of seasoning or garnish can change that. It's best they just toss out the soup and start over....
...Than again--they were talking about having JAKE GYLLENHAAL take over as Bruce Wayne when Affleck exits, so...maybe starting over is a bad idea as well. Problem is--WB will NEVER let go of their DC products.
Absolutely. That was the era of theme songs so just imagine what it would be like for a Burton Justice League.
Judging by your posts here, I'd wager you KNOW why this film needs to hit $1 billion and you're just making this post so that you'll have an excuse to keep fighting your already-lost battle with us. :)
I'd love something akin to Burton's Batman again. Those movies were such classics and are still fun to watch to this day. DC knew how to be fun back then.
A movie depicting the Avengers taking $hits simultaneously in the restroom stalls would easily out-gross any DCCU product. Why? Because the MCU turns even the most ludicrous idea into a perfectly bankable, highly profitable and highly entertaining idea. I never in my wildest dreams expected to feel remorse for a talking a tree's death than the death of Superman but MCU pulled it off.
Call it "Avengers: Toilet Wars" and it would net millions of youtube views and would blow us away with a surprisingly entertaining plotline that would literally wipe its a$$ all over the next lame DCCU movie.
MCU caught lightning in a bottle, put forth the effort and is reaping its rightful rewards while DCCU decided to mimic it, put forth a half-a$$ed effort and is now rightfully getting its due karma for its laziness.
I know I'm late but....HAHAHAHAHAHA! Just like old times! I love it! XD
LOL! Don't forget the "the MCU always introduces some character cameo to tease one of their upcoming movies!" Say HELLO, Deathstroke cameo! LOL! Total idiots... XD
By the way, we decided to watch Thor: Ragnarok and it was a BLAST! I loved all the retro elements to it and how it had a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy "flavor" to it. Definitely the best Thor movie and definitely one of the best MCU movies.
It would be nice to get the atmosphere back to some extent. This place needs more traffic. IMDB, despite its toxic atmosphere, was rife with intelligent debate if you took the time to wade through the sewage.
I wouldn't trust IMDB2 anyway. Any one of us registering there would basically be the same as us handing our personal information over to the DCCU zealots who so desperately want access to it.
PS: And now the DCCU zealots can't even use the "our DCCU doesn't do end credits!" defense because Justice League has end credits scenes, LOL!
There you are! :D Yes, what was I thinking?!
Great to see you here, TJ. It just wouldn't seem right not to have you guys here. Now it feels like old times!...only without the fun of antagonizing the zealots, that is. :/
Unfortunately, I probably won't get a chance to see Ragnarok in theaters. I really wanted to but something much MUCH more important came up: My wife's citizenship interview and test was FINALLY scheduled for next month! :D Yep, she just needs to pass the test and then she'll be cleared to take the oath. At long last, right? ;)
How was Thor? It looks like it will easily be the best one. I'm not a big fan of the Thor series but this one was the only one I was excited for.
Yeah, so how about Justice League? I wasn't expecting it to do well but isn't that sad? Seriously, it's actually ridiculous how the JUSTICE LEAGUE could end up coming out with a whimper. It should have made history like The Avengers but nope--it's just another DC movie and not even gaining much attention.
The Avengers was an event. It was like a special event that MUST be seen in theaters. It was a piece of movie history much like the first Star Wars was. Justice League is nothing like that. It's stupid. Had it been in the proper hands, Justice League could have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with The Avengers...but that would have required the DCCU to have been in the right hands in the first place and we all know that wasn't the case.
WB rushed to the Justice League movie as fast as they could and the results are a mediocre Justice League movie that has failed to capture the same lightning in a bottle that MCU did with The Avengers.
This "hurry to Justice League!" idea was always a recipe for disaster...yet, still they did it and here we are with the exact result one would expect with a rush job.
They tried so hard to catch up with MCU when they should have just focused on making great movies.
TheMightyThor2 really got on my nerves, to be honest. Zodfrey? That name sounds familiar but I can't seem to remember that poster for some reason.
LOL! Yeah, this is NOT good for the DCCU. I'm not saying that it would be a realistic expectation for it to reach the box office of the first Avengers movie but, when all's said and done, it won't even come CLOSE to it. That is downright PATHETIC. It even seems to be up in the air if Justice League will even top Wonder Woman. BillBrown said it best: people just aren't thinking of Justice League as an event movie because of the way they blew it with BVS.
How sad is that, though? Justice League came before The Avengers in the comic-verse and The Avengers ends up making history while Justice League will be nothing more than a blip on the radar that is quickly forgotten. This was the first live action JUSTICE LEAGUE. It should have made history in the same way that The Avengers did...now that will never happen.
Ew, Scabab of all people ended up being the moderator? I remember that guy--he had that Dragon Ball avatar, right?
All I have to say about Wonder Woman is this: If that is the best thing the DCCU can possibly churn out then they're in trouble...BIG trouble.
Hey there, Ranma! I had a feeling, too. Now we have you, Twisted, BillBrown and ReelReviews. Too bad TJ couldn't make it. I told him about this site before and he always stated he might check it out sometime.
It's great to see all you guys again. :)
I wish we had TJ and Midas--then it would feel almost exactly like IMDB again.
As long as they keep producing this DCCU trash, we'll always be here for these reunions, LOL! ;)
I'm glad to see you guys all checked in on this thread. *Raises beer glass*
So, I watched Wonder Woman a few weeks ago for the first time. While it's definitely the best DCCU movie, that's really not saying much--I didn't like the movie. It was slow and felt like it dragged on about 30 minutes more than it should have.
I also take great issue with the way their stupid island is just "invisible" and how no one happened to stumble upon it during all those years until WWI.
There was also zero chemistry between Pine's character (I already forgot his name) and Diana.
For what it's worth, I think that Gal Gadot's physical acting is top notch. Her normal acting leaves a lot to be desired, though. Still, props to her for her fighting scenes. She truly acts like an Amazonian warrior.
For the most part, Wonder Woman felt like a ripoff of Captain America even down to the excessive shield use. Ugh! I half-expected the enemy soldiers to shout "Hail Hydra!"
Amazing that Gal Gadot could be the highlight of a Justice League universe...
