Is a well written and acted film with a great social statement, but simply cannot match the stylistic mastery and beautiful/brutal story of The Revenant.

The Revenant should have easily Won

It was immersive, engaging and made people go to the cinema. It was pure Cinema.
Plus it had memorable scenes.

There was no need to split Director and Best Picture this year.

Spotlight is a good movie but it will go along side films like The Hurt Locker as movies that the critic loved but the audience are indifferent to them

Room was very good, but I didn't think it was Best Picture material. I'm glad Brie Larson got her Oscar, though.

I'm afraid that you underestimate the number of subjects in which I take an interest!

The Big Short deserved it. Spotlight was good but not great. The Revenant was just average and a bit dragged out. Mad Max: Fury Road was technically amazing but overly violent, almost like a Tarantino film. A film like Brooklyn was sweet and touching but not Best Picture material. I have yet to see Room.

As a film, it didn't deserve best picture. As an investigation it deserves de Pulitzer, but you can't judge the merits of the real investigation as part of the merits of the movie.

When I left The Revenant I felt as thou I had been raped , the trailer was better than the film . Instead of actually telling the story of Hugh Glass we instead get white men raping the land , an indian woman , and of course killing a half breed child while also incorporating the Jesus . Tell me which film actually had an political agenda wrapped in spiritual nonsense ?

Great story. Very well directed and told. I was thinking it will get at least best director. Jumped out of my seat when I heard it won the best picture.

The Revenant was beautifully shot, but when I realised that it was just another "good guy vs "bad guy" and had nothing to offer further that pretty pictures, I got seriously bored.

I dont think it should of won, it was quite boring. Take away the child abuse would it still of got an Oscar?
