God is an imaginary character like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. People who believe in God are too weak to face the spiritual emptiness of life without an imaginary friend who they believe loves and protects them. Death is the void. You were dead before you were born - how did that feel? Pretty bland, wasn't it?

That's the reason why people cry at funerals, and why even the most devout believer is terrified of death: because deep down they know that there truly is nothing there.

I love how the OP just casually asks the question of God's existance, almost as if he expects only a couple responses.
