It’s pretty forgettable! Not a badly made film just feels pointless and doesn’t really go anywhere. Think they tried to make it a brooding character study but Macfadyen doesn’t quite have the depth for it and it just doesn’t really come off. Although not all his fault. It’s a shame cause there is a great story in there. Outlaw king was great and gets close but still feel that could have been grander. For me It’s tough to pick between begins and TDK as I think they complement each other very well but for me TDK is prob the better film but would not begrudge anyone picking begins. I think TDK is just that bit sharper in terms of story telling and production although the high budget increase helps and yeah the joker prob does tip it. Still get the same boyish excitement that did in cinema when he flips that joker card over at the end of begins though!!! I prefer GOTs by far but also loved the early seasons of the walking dead. To me TWD felt it they almost started writing it like right would loook really cool and we can patch characters and story around it later! Some of the character decisions later on in the show were beyond stupid! And just stuff like like one episode the dispatch a mini hoard is minutes to show how “bad ass” and hardened the original characters had become the next there is a massive drawn out scene where they are struggling to take out 2 walkers! It just got lazy for me If only!! Everyone was joking that bran would wake up and it was all his dream form his coma after thrown from the window! That would probably have been better than what we actually got!! Haha Might as well just gone all out and have Ayra win and final scene she sits on throne, then takes a face off and it’s Ethan Hunt.... DUN DUN DUNDUN DOODLE DOOOO DODDLE DOOO Will look and aged so much better too!! I have watched a chunk of season one they are married and just found out they are trying to raise funds for the rebellion! Which is the part I am drawn too. I was a thing myself too and without doubt the mrs walked through at every... passionate scene and got the expected “what are you watching!!!” It’s a proper show promise hahaha You done enough to convince me haha! If I change my mind after watching I will let you know haha :P I think a lot of lure is that it’s not clear what happened in his mind and what has actually happened! To me that was the joker telling a doctor a story of how he became the joker but like ledgers scars stories who knows what of it was real or not. Could also explain the time line issues in that he could have been caught and put there by batman and we are seeing an older jokers retelling and so he was actually a lot younger at the time so closer in age to batman I don’t know people have taken different things from it It’s an interesting film and worth a watch I would say. I enjoyed it and JP is brilliant but it is no where near as good as the hype! It does borrow heavily from king of comedy and taxi driver, it can be a little forced in places and drags slightly but worth a watch. I am a fan of batman and the joker characters but yeah you could almost tag any popular villain on it (within reason it wouldn’t work with Vader haha) I am from Scotland and it splits people here also! Taking the politics out of it it is a brilliantly made film. The Intensity of the battle scenes is something I think very few have been able to recreate and it’s very good against the odds film that leaves you fired up. Also being Scottish I guess its heightened for me but I suppose I can see the argument against it as it uses the inaccuracies to achieve this! The almost tribal Scots farmers in the kilts and limited armoury against the evil empire of England with the force of the heavy armoured regimented English forces type scenario. I still love it though haha. Of course it would have been interesting if could have been a more historical accurate film. However the way I look at is it’s a gateway to history. It was on a massive stage and if even a slight percentage of the viewing audience then went on to read the actual history then great. If not then people who didn’t know the history still don’t know the history haha. I liked outlaw king which while is still a film based on historical events is still a lot closer but If nobody watches it you could argue Braveheart did more by being less or am I stretching!!! Hahaha Haha about it continuing to be decent or the whole thing? I am a big fan (Dunkirk aside!) What I like about him is I think he walks the line between “art” filmmaking and “entertainment” film very well. He makes sold well made movies with decent and interesting plots but also has that blockbuster entertainment scale to them. Others obvs think he is too much on the art side and boring. I don’t mind Indy/art house cinema but I do think the vast majority of it is self indulgent drivel. For me Nolan ideally gets the mix just right which for me is pretty rare Nope still feel utterly let down! What a total waste. Ruined what was otherwise a fantastic show To be honest I was super excited for this. RS coming back to the franchise! Alien is one of my all time faves however Aliens I despise with a passion!! (I know I am in the minority) so I went in hoping for the slower film with the same tone as the original but was still disappointed. For me what let it down was it tried to be both but wasn’t really either. The first bit was good when discovered the ship then just went really naff, the blue guys looked ridiculous, some of the deaths were really hammy particularly the crab man bit and It kinda felt like it was a set up film for the film we were told it was gonna be. So were left at the end with all the same questions and more! Godfather, bladerunner or Braveheart! Blade runner Alien Gladiator Also think kingdom of heaven is criminally underrated! Poor choice of lead but unbelievable film! Norton is brilliant draws you in without even seeing his face It’s a bit out there and not convinced on the casting but I think would be a more interesting and a bit more edge then the bland nothingness we ended up with This tells me that there may be very little of batman as a physically intimidating threat. They have said it will be a more story driven noir tale focusing on the detective side, RP must be comfortable that the little fighting he may have he will be able to sell it. I personally think batman has to have the physical presence too but as someone says the suit may do that we don’t need to see a shirtless ripped Bruce Wayne to believe it. Time will tell I suppose Suppose it depends on your interpretation of dark! As said Nolan’s was Pritty dark, but was still a 12A blockbuster. You could argue Ben Afflick was darker in that he branded the victims and the injuries were a bit more graphic, batarang through shoulder, broke limbs etc. I am hoping for a more seven style thriller with the riddler tone wise dark than. Just a bit more graphic fights dark! At first was thinking this be awful with Pattinson the more I see the more I like to be honest. Totally agree! I can not get into them at all! Loved reservoir dogs, like the bits of of pulp fiction with Trovolta and SLJ but in the middle is stupid! After that just seems to disappear up his own arse. Everything is sooo forced, trying far to hard to be cool and edgy!
