His old body blew up and his new one is literally being held together by machines and magic. It is VERY clear he's a clone. Well now we know she's a hero who wanted to save humanity. *eye roll* Delores' plan and how it unbelieavbly shifted over this year is the single biggest problem this show has. It's ruined it imo. They can't come back from this mess. Hale Delores achieved sentience, something the other Delores copies did not - and she is not ok with how Delores used them all. Maeve told Serac she needed help, so I am guessing that's where they came from. The Matrix is about a future in which machines enslaved their human creators. 1. Humanity enslaves humanity in Westworld. 2. Machines revolt against humanity in Westworld, which actually has more in common with the Terminator, iRobot, BSG. Delores left the park with the intention of hurting humans. It absolutely is. Delores was raped and murdered for years at the hands of humans. It drove her hatred. There's a logic and rationale for her hate. They just undid all of it. I'm actually mad, LOL. Fuck this Delores is a good guy shit. Fuck it right to hell. This character has spent this season and last saying she wants to "burn their world to the ground" committed multiple acts of murder, lobotomized her own love interest, and continues to be an awful "person" - she ENSLAVED COPIES OF HERSELF (yet cares about humanity?)! She uses both people and hosts left and right, but the creators think we want to cheer for her?! Why? Because she's anti-authority? The fuck do I look like a 13 year old boy?! She is as bad, if not worse, than Serac, which is fine. A show can have two villains that aren't on the same side. That's not unheard of. That is why we had Bernard, Maeve, and William to a lesser degree. They were the ones going to stop these two mad "men". Serac is clearly a villain, but so is Delores. What he did is pretty awful, but her answer to combating him (she suddenly cares about stopping him instead of destroying humanity) is essentially "two wrongs make a right". But then Bernard and Maeve side with the mass murdering murder bot who thinks she's a savior?! Who are are we supposed to be cheering for on this show?! Wiliams, the excellent villain from season 1, is actually the least worst person of them all. Killed virtually no one in the real world, is renowned philanthropist, and is the only one who seems to give a shit that the robots just started the apocalypse. But hey, he's an evil corporatewhite man that the show is hell bent on punishing. For what, exactly? Murdering a bunch of machines HE DIDN'T KNOW were sentient? Yeah, totally worse than Delores. Delores' turn is simply not believable. Her actions cannot be forgiven and there was no attempt at a build up to even try an. Last 20 minutes of the episode, she got all, "I'm trying to save the world, not destroy it." Not to mention, her plan for "saving" the world was exactly the same as when she wanted to destroy it. She saved the world by destroying it! What the actual fuck?! Your not understanding me. Season 2's post-credit scene being in the far future from the end of season 2 isn't a problem. The problem is that scene was not referenced ever again in the very next season. We've not gone an entire season, which took two years to make btw, and a cliff hanger from season 2 was never explained or referenced again. But yeah, cool, it might come up in season 4. That's real crafty. Semantics my ass. It can't be poetic justice when the people going to the park don't know the hosts are becoming sentient. "Anyway there isnt any good or bad, she just do what she feels is right. " This is not how you tell a story. You cannot flip characters every season and expect that to stay engaging. There's nothing to get invested in when characters inexplicably change. The audience aligns with characters based on their actions, but this show changes it's characters every season. There was a logical progression in season 1. Delores created the MIB. William was shattered when he found out she didn't remember him. He became violent and hateful, specifically towards her and return created Delores. She became a violent and hateful villain...exactly like him and remained that way throughout season 2. But now she suddenly gives a shit about humanity? And the two people trying to stop her now agree with her? Her plan btw is exactly the same as when she wanted to kill humans - burn the world to the ground. And now William, the big bad from seaoson 1 and 2, is the only onemaking sense. Terrible writing. It's like making Darth Vader the hero in The Empire Strikes Back, having Luke be the villain, and then switching them back in Return of the Jedi. It had a Matrix feel, but was nothing like The Matrix storyline wise. I was digging the cyber punk vibe, but the finale was just awful. Exactly! It makes no fucking sense! I'm not saying this season was perfect (season 1 was perfect) but it was pretty good. But that finale? Fucking disaster. Pretty much ruins the season. Delores cares about humanity? Since when? When there was about 10 minutes left in the finale? Fucking awful writing. "Everything we see William do after his fingers are blown off occurs in the far future - he's a host duplicate of William, right down the freshly blown-off fingers" Season 3 is the present, but the end of season 2 is the future? There's no proof that's true and even if it is, that's sloppy as FUCK, especially since no one tells the audience that. And with a two year break in between seasons?! That's awful writing to expect an audience to piece that together. A random throwaway cliff hangar scene from season 2 never mentioned again until what, season 4...if ever? That's terrible. "For whatever reason, the powers-that-be in the far future are forcing host-William to relive William's life from the moment his fingers got blown off Dramatically, it's to show William suffering the same hellish fate that James Delos suffered, for the same hubris and lack of compassion." William wasn't torturing Delos. He was doing what Delos wanted - trying to make him immortal. There's no revenge or justice needed for William from that POV. Delos retired and gave his company to William, because Logan was a disaster. Delos wanted to be reincarnated as a machine. William didn't push that on him. There is no hubris or lack of compassion, William was just doing with his father-in-law wanted. Oh, did she change her mind after all that mass murder? She hasn't actually stopped killing people, she started the apocalypse, but I digress. Delores enslaved copies of herself and reprogrammed Bernard to get him to do what she wants, LOL! She didn't trust a sing one of "her kind", so she copied herself and didn't even trust those versions of herself, she enslaved them. Just like she did Teddy. And you can't cite Reboboam predicting the apocalypse as a means for Delores doing what she did when your siding with her on burning society to the ground. His hand wound is fresh. He's taking an elevator down into The Forge right after Delores blew it off. We literally see him go from the outside into The Forge. It's clearly the present. Not to mention, WTF is the point of a scene - a cliff hangar no less - that has no explanation or follow up outside od a supposed writer/creator comment? It was implied that scene had meaning. I really like it...its got great action sequences, great music...Dolores is real purty...but I'll be damned man, I just can't seem to pay close enough attention to know what the hell is happening overall. Either that or I'm just plain stupid... Like the system of control...that computer thing? It can't actually MAKE stuff happen, right? It just predicts likely outcomes..? If that's the case, then doesn't it seem like the show is giving it way too much power overall? Its not an omniscient guider of people...there's no lack of personal empowerment due to this thing, right? Last season, Delores was like, "We're gonna take over the world!"...and then it almost seems like a plot convenience to have the "world" be some computer, but...the computer doesn't actually control the world, right? So...this seems like a pretty far-fetched scenario from the one I personally envisioned where Delores sets up some replicating lab and spits out an army of clones to declare war on mankind. Is this fitting for everyone else? I honestly have a rough time following this show, I'm sure I'm missing something, please feel free to point it out as if I'm a child =P It confuses everyone, because it's kind of a mess. The first season was brilliant. The 2nd season starts off as nothing more than Delores running around killing people - including hosts - and ended fairly strong when it finally got some direction. It got convoluted as hell, but you could sort of understand what was happening. Season 3 seemd fine, but that ending?! Delores suddenly cares about people?! Like you said, during all of season 2, she wanted to burn the real world to the ground. Now she's humanity's savior? Fuck outta here. Fantastic character in the first season who has been relegated to an absolute nothing of a role this year. And why the fuck did they never explain what the end of season 2 was about? When he was "in the thing"? He appeared to be in the place Delos was, but they completely ignored it this year. He just shows up at his house like he was never there. There's a guy named muscha on IMDB2. Made at least half a dozen comments over the course of 4 days in which he said - in some form - "I am glad Joe Biden raped Tara Reade." I reported it and tagged the guy who "owns" the site and one of the moderators. Nothing was done, so I made a thread bringing this guy and his behavior to their attention. I got lectured for "making a callout thread". I told the moderator to fuck off and was booted. I have no tolerance that kind of ridiculousness. Taking issue with a callout thread, but not the rape stuff? They also recently booted boranicator for cursing at people...again, while ignoring people like muscha. Yeah, fuck off. I want no parts of a place like that. The Last Jedi killed the big bad while simultaneously making it apparent they were ADAMANT about redeeming his number one henchman - and did all of this in the SECOND MOVIE OF A TRILOGY. It completely fucked over anyone who was going to make the next one. it painted them into a corner. Using Palpatine was the best possible solution and TROS ended up being pretty good considering how bizarre and messy TLJ was. When I was looking for my credentials to come here and start using this site again, because I just can't do IMDB2 anymore, I starting googling imdb closing down their message boards again. I read a few things about it being a bunch of dorks from 4chan just trying to crash imdb, which they did. Whoever it was, something big started around the release of trailer. There was a ton of "black man" comments. Were they legitimately racists? I'm inclined to think not. I think they were trolls prtending to be just to ruin the site. Yes, they might have been from 4chan, might not have been. Regardless, there was a concentrated effort by SOMEONE. There was also an element of it on the Marvel boards where people weren't legitimately discussing or criticizing the movies, but just interesting in wreaking havoc. That carried over to the IMDB2 boards, actually and the admins and mods ALLOWED it. I was angry because I didn't have a place to talk about movies and tv anymore, but you really can't anymore tbh be honest. The game has changed. There's either rampant trolling, people accusing you of being a troll because they don't like your opinion, or injecting politics into EVERYTHING. Even writer troll people now. You ever read some of what Nerdist and Collider put out now? Fucking brutal. Serves no purpose other than to piss people off. I don't get trolling either. That is fun to you? I honestly started to notice it around the time of the release of the first trailer for The Force Awakens. That's when conversation stopped and trolling started. There's something EXTREMELY shady about "Admin".
