Amen to that, on the first point and especially on the second! I know she has no super powers but she's still kick ass! In the Avengers, there's probably not a better bare-handed fighter, except for Captain America. To each their own though. I think that Darlene and the KC mob will become the primary antagonists in season 3. I finally saw it. It's okay but not very interesting. They didn't show anything that we haven't already seen in the set pictures. Sure you've got the voice overs of Carol Danvers and Nick Fury. Voice overs have become a staple of MCU trailers. It would have been nice to see some emotion from Larson's face in a few frames. Maybe they are saving more for the next trailer. I hope so. I give it a 5 out of 10. I'm going to check it out when I get home. Haven't heard anything negative yet. Methinks you're still grappling with the fact that Thor: Ragnarok beat out Justice League handily. Let that sink it. The third installment of Thor (co-starring Hulk) beat out the team up of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. TRR grossed a total of 854 million, whereas JL pulled in 658 million. On a related note, I want to see DC do good. I like DC! If you're going to be upset at someone, take your frustrations out on Warner Bros for royally botching the DCEU. They did it on the fly and recklessly. They hurt ALL comic book movies in the process. A strong MCU should equal a strong DCEU. They should be competing on a level field but not with the quality that WB put out. I'm still trying to figure out why she's in the movie. She'd better have some significance to the story, instead of just being put in because she's a "flavor of the moment" celebrity. I hate when they do that stuff. Nothing against her, I thought she was fine in Stranger Things but they don't need to create a role for the sole purpose of having her in the movie. I'd never heard of this movie until I saw the current topics. Guess I should check it out. See I don't know if I like Batman being that cold-blooded. I can see him killing people in a fight but not premeditated killing. That's just not Bats. He's right at that line of hero/vigilante but always stays on the side of what's morally right. So true. It's upsetting to think how this could have been a movie for the ages, if only it had been done right. I still shake my head. So your argument is that a movie starring a D-Lister Marvel character can't beat movies starring A-List D.C. characters like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman? Not a good argument but okay. I think the best critique I've read on BVS, was a recent online article (from The Verge, I think). Looking back on it's roll out in 2016, the writer made the best point about the movie's problems and eventual failure. He noted that WB didn't invest the time in creating a world that viewers felt comfortable in, nor characters that they knew. Sure, everyone knows who Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are but not a new, cinematic version of these classic characters. The studio (seeing the financial success of the MCU), rushed the job. Instead of spending cash on early movies to introduce the DCEU universe and warm us to the characters, they ham-fistedly slapped together a shortcut that was neither fun nor cohesive. To call BVS "good" is to close your mental eyes to glaring faults. Superman all dour and moody, Batman murdering people, Wonder Woman acting mostly disinterested... these are clearly NOT who their namesake doubles are from the comic pages. And don't even get me started on a plot that was all over the map. That didn't require much thought: 1. Airport fight scene - Captain America: Civil War 2. Elevator fight scene - Captain America: Winter Soldier 3. Wakanda battle with Thanos's army and the Black Order - Avengers: Infinity War 4. Battle for New York - Avengers 5. Tony's escape from an Afghan cave - Iron Man I actually find all of these scenes more exciting, action-packed and mesmerizing than Bat-Affleck kicking around hired muscle in a warehouse. Agreed. I laughed at parts of it for sure, however my heart sank over the fate of her poor mother. Everyone in that house either ignored her or treated her with such disrespect. It hurt to watch. The town they lived in was depressing too, so I can understand why Muriel wanted out. Her father and her brothers were just horrible people. Uh yeah, a whole lot of people would disagree with that claim, because it's simply asinine! Kylo Ren, a master in the force, gets bested by a person who's never previously wielded a light saber. Comparisons to Ledger's Joker are way off. If Rey's mother had been named "Martha" that would have be so utterly perfect! The first HB movie was great! It was a fine mix of Lovecraft with a comic book feel. The actors were cast well (White Washing?!?) and I liked the interpersonal play between all the characters. I also think they captured the tone of the original comic stories. Yeah, I also thought that remark was rather misplaced and stupid. Hellboy is RED after all. That would be so cool! A 1930's or 1940's incarnation of Batman would be a fresh take, an alternate version of the same story. I have been really intrigued by "Gotham by Gaslight." I wish they would create a made for T.V. movie based on it. Hello Netfix or Hulu??? This is what I deduced as well. Once made human again, you stay human.
