New poster with "Stranger Things" girl, doesn't make me hopeful

it's a tentpole movie. Checking lotsa boxes helps.

She's now become the biggest star in the movie.

In the old Godzilla movies there were always kids running around getting involved somehow, even saving the day, so I guess I wouldn't be surprised if we see that in the American Godzilla.

This godawful casting and the world's most generic plot scream design by committee. Luckily the only part of the movie that actually matters, the kaiju, look very well done.

I'm still trying to figure out why she's in the movie. She'd better have some significance to the story, instead of just being put in because she's a "flavor of the moment" celebrity. I hate when they do that stuff. Nothing against her, I thought she was fine in Stranger Things but they don't need to create a role for the sole purpose of having her in the movie.
