I've never been a big fan of Batman stories, save for the Dark Knight. This most recent one was overdrawn, slow, overall uninteresting story line.
Is it possible to make Batman a "human" vigilante without fake superpowers? Sure he should have all the gadgets money can buy, but c'mon -- no guns/death makes this a ramped up ninja movie reminiscent of the 70s kung fu comedies.
Nolan had the right idea, but still required suspension of disbelief.. make it Raw, real and human. Drop commish gordon, catwoman, etc... merge Bruce Wayne right into the Joker's (phoenix) world - get it right.
I just watched this last night (post is old) - but I'd agree with the below answers that she revealed too much info to Luke, and/or "looked" at the thing along with uttering its name - obviously a no go with its rules.
But her story (correct me if im wrong) is probably more horrific. I believe that she was Anna Erickson, the wallet that was found with the expired 1984 driving license, along with a picture of her husband and two children. Most likely the family that owned the VW Winnebago. If we are to assume that groups of 4 enter these woods; two are picked off by hunting, one is marked for cult duties and eternal life, the other marked for sacrifice. I can only imagine that her kids were probably picked off first, and her husband marked for sacrifice (as she had the chest marking). What must her story be, assuming the "chosen" have incredible pain and suffering/guilt?
Trade tariffs help domestic manufacturing level the playing field. Sure this drives price higher, but also ensures increased employment.
With increased employment, it offers each worker Economic freedom to choose where they want to work, what they want to purchase.
It takes a special kind of ignorance to think that Trump was voted in by idiots. Consider for a moment that Trump supporters are by their very fabric politically motivated by economic freedom, constitiational law, Conservative Supreme Court and disdain for the deep state.
Trump represented these ideologies. It's not about the man himself - but the changes he brings to a PC corrupted society.
If she ran again it would be three times in a row. She lost to Barry in 2008 - took the SoS deal to bow out.
Even Dems know she is toxic, the party has been held hostage by the Clintons for decades. Only Hillary could lose to Trump in 16. And now, because the party has moved so far to the left, Trump will win again in 2020.

^agreed. I had no idea who harry styles (was).. i do now, but he didnt ruin the movie. He played a supporting role along with 10 others, and did a fine job.
It was the only way he could meet the French character (burying the soldier) and being alone.
That was actually poor writing, as they foreshadowed it 10 min earlier before the group got ambushed in the streets.
Ok. So true racists are probably insane pycsychopaths. I would much prefer holding off on the term for people who are truly hateful, then to slap the term on someone like me because I can openly admit thst I see "race".
I run a sports business and have 20 student employees. My 2 best employees are both black. The other 18 are white and tgeir work ethic is nowhere near as good as my two favourites. As a result I give them free reign of how many hours they want and what time slots.
Does this make me racist because i know they are black? Imo no way.
Perfectly fine explanation, but when I watched the film the only person who came across as racist was the cop at the beginning.. and even then, that was more reflex.
The entire family cant be racist when they are hands down certifiably insane: all of them.
In my opinion, being a racist is someone who chooses to treat another race poorly. Charles Manson could have been a racist but who cares? The guy was a psychotic murderer.
If what the movie is trying to say, is that we "see" race differently, then everyone is racist. Im "aware" when i speak to a black guy or an asian guy or for that matter a red haired white guy because they "look" differently then i do. No harm no foul.
And just because a director intends to write a story, the movie can be viewed in many ways.
If black people think by going to hang out with a white family fir the weekend will be anything like this movie - then theres nothing that can be done to "improve" relations.
I dont think the grandpa had an axe to grind with black people. More like he was impressed at jesse Owens feat at the 36 olympics. Even though he lost out. It made him strive to create a way of getting better/faster = which was a form of Eugenics Hitler promoted. So while he admired Owens' speed, it was more about creating or capturing perfection.
Secondly, when asked why black people were being chosen, it was clear from the TV that Blacks simply were more susceptable to the hypnosis. Which was bordering on reverse racism by Jordan Peele.
None of these people cared that blacks were the chosen ones -- just that they were/are. So that was all they could choose from.
The old lady having her husband go into the younger guy.
Grandpa taking a fast guy.
Grandma taking a young girl.
Blind art dealer taking a photographer.
These choices are all pretty obvious regardless of race. If it werent for Black people being the only ones it works on my guess is they might prefer different races.
Oddly im not even sure wht people got up in arms about it. If anything it was a real knock on blacks being easy to hypnotize.
I dont think they were servants. This was all for show and set up for the weekend auction. They dont want to give away anything, or draw attention to Grandma being like 25 and Grandpa being like 35.
Assuming all went to plan, they both would be legs up in the house by Monday. Chris would be taken over completely by the art dealer, who can use Chris' body and eyes to see. Art Dealer Chris would probably go on to lead a long and successful career.

I said I agreed with the OP about the arc from pro and that it would have been cool to see a movie about Shaw David arriving at the planet... along with the true background of the Engineers.
Thing is, the question mr. Potter will never be answered. Nobody will be satisfied with: " where we came from" or "where did the engineers come from" or "whete did the xenomorphs... wait!!! This movie actually did say where the xenomorphs came from. I think thats really effing cool.
So humans create synthetic, synthetic creates xeno (from black goo). We hear david explain that the black goo morphs into numerous different forms depending on host... and finally he created the eggs for the facehuggers.
Cmon man, thats pretty cool.
The crew itself?.. agreed, not very likeable characters, but they were just colonists, not marines like bill paxton or Reece- and those guys got screwed up pretty good by the xenos.
This crew got a dose of high incubating neomorphs that friggin came out of the back in like 6 hours flat. Of course they were unprepared. Who can prepare for that?
Walter was a bit of a let down, yes.. but David was truly evil, much like Ash was.
I get you dont like it, obviously not everyone can like a movie... much like 28 days later, so many people hated 28 weeks later. Not me, it was great. I just enjoyed it.. but now because everyone complained we wont get to see 28 months later.
And.. how can you say finding out the origin of the xeno is like finding out the origin of Jaws?. Jaws was a man eating great white.. we already know its origin...

Nope. Wrong again. I dont need a Shaw or Ripley for it to be great. Daniels was fine. Fassbender is the greatest actor the series has ever had.
