I actually liked this film specifically because it didn't go the tired LotR route that so many have emulated since. Definitely! Guy kept it from being another boring King Arthur movie. Because bashing movies is what's in now. It's no coincidence that majority of them are either too young to even know what good and bad cinema is or folks with the movie taste of a child. I agree that the CG filled final battle definitely hurt an overall good film, but "what was the alternative?" is why I didn't totally hate that part. We don't meet him face to face but they did show him forging Excalibur. Just you. She is easily one of the best things about the film. Her look and performance were spot on for the role. I like how you try to use Enchantress as a trigger to get others to agree with you but really just proves how weak your point is. Agree 100% So many folks these days are so busy trying to be the best at picking movies apart that they forget to just watch the damn movie. It's pretty hilarious just how many movies I've actually enjoyed just in the past three years that the internet was been hellbent on armchair critiquing from day one. That's exactly why I have NEVER put stock into movie ratings. I love B-movies and discovering gems like this too much to care about obviously bad reviews. My favorite thing about how so many complained about his appearance and how it didn't look like his Teen Titan version BEFORE the movie was even in post production is not only did it turn out good from obvious CG polishing but in the end he even got an upgrade that resemble his current solo comic look. What you and some would call carbon copy I look at as "Staying in their lane", no pun intended. Different and BIGGER stunts is one of the charms of the franchise and the different actors, at least Johnson and Statham, were brought simply cause Vin asked fans on his social media who they wanted to see added and BOOM! they were cast. The F&F fanbase is stronger than most think. Thank you for at least admitting that. So many characters like Cyborg in movies AND ESPECIALLY in comics get written off simply due to preconceived expectations, assumptions, or just ignorant bias. The first comment was nice enough to provide us with the perfect example! So it makes me happy to see comments like yours. People that actually gives stuff a chance only to be surprised when they realized that they genuinely liked it. Keep this in mind the next time you come across new and unfamiliar things you "expect" something from. They just may surprise you. So it's not original simply because YOU think "it's like" a music video? Other than the POV and the fact they were probably both filmed in UK, what else do they have in common? It kept the film interesting, cause you didn't know if Henry could stop Akan. Jimmy actually just built himself a finite amount avatars or clones that couldn't regenerate. He would switch when the others died or were too badly wounded. He may have had extra in his lab but they probably weren't fully operational. To put it simply because it was an independent film. Without a studio there to stifle the production or demand edits, a director with a passion to do something different, and a kick ass idea the independent film scene is just full of original films like this. Not exactly a bunch of first-person POV films but you get my drift. GOOD LORD!!! I just looked up a recent photo of her...so heartbreaking. I bet she would STILL be killing it if she had kept it together. No doubt the most gripping line of the movie. Made me not even really care he lost the fight, he won the fight against "his toughest opponent" instead. Killing is not an option but an unavoidable consequence after YEARS of fighting a one man war against gun wielding mercenaries in the real world. In a world with a human crocodile, gods, and aliens walking around, how long do you think they would be scared of a human in a bat costume with a no kill policy? Joker likes that he broke the Bat and the ultimate punchline for him would be getting the Bat to kill him. Showing everyone he is no better. The whole fun in adaptations is being presented a different version of something you're familiar with. Plus it's not like we haven't seen shades of these characters in the comics. Superman killed Zod cause there was no other option, not just cause he could. His reaction afterwards showed it was not something he wanted to do but Kryptonite was still undiscovered along with their vulnerability to red sun. So where on Earth would they be able to detain Zod? Couple that with how half of the world disliked him and now ask yourself again why Superman didn't kill human Lax Luthor. As a grown man I can see that without Disney we probably wouldn't have the MCU and even then it wouldn't be as big as it is. As a person who does read the comics I too have been waiting for this since Phase One. So far the teaser seems spot on especially with the look of Wakanda's blend of African culture with cutting edge technology. While this will definitely be the MCU's biggest challenge to date I don't think there is much to be worried about. The cast and director is like a dream team and production seemed to go off without a hitch. BP isn't overly big in the comics so I think the actor's size is fine.
