I totally agree and even when tropes from other heist films show up here it doesn't beat you over the head with them. When? Has the movies even acknowledged anything from the shows? It doesn't bother me so much when like others have pointed out that more than a few cities in multiple states, in multiple countries in this day in age share the same name down to similar spelling. Plus I like to see it as the filmmaker keeping the motif of a film about black-ops by being percise with locations. Especially when you consider a good portion of those trainwreck folks had no intentions from the very start at giving this movie a fair shot because of childish bias or simply because it doesn't resemble what they built up in their heads. I agree with you on the humor of this film esspecially when you keep in mind that despite assumptions JL was intended to be lighter in tone from the very beginning. And it NEVER got as bad as the Guardian movies have become. For something folks seem to despise you guys sure do spend a butt load of time thinking and talking about it. Agreed. His song during the end credits would have been perfect because it's actually a decent song. I think it was because of the negative impact that speech may have had on the other kids, he basically tells them to not believe in Santa Clause and they're "drinking the Koolade" if they do. I agree one of the best things was how beautifully shot it was and that this is a fun film that suffers from others taking it too serious. I definitely agree an R rating would have made it better. I actually liked it for the fact that it wasn't another fantasy film about Arthur, we got more than a few of those already, or a historical film that would just suck out all the fun in favor of realism. At first it was just a race thing considering the time they were created but since then it has been flipped and now its a point of pride for the few with names like that. Black Lightning has gone on to explain that he was one of the first black heroes and he chose his name because he wanted people to know what they getting when they called on him. This is a CW produced show. Maybe the racial profiling was the straw that broke the camel's back. In his very first comic he became Black Lightning to take back his streets from The 100. As a black man I don't like being profiled as a gang banger but I'm also well aware that they are still a plague on many black neighborhoods. "Luke Cage copy"? You must not know much about Black Lightning. The 100 Gang was apart of Jefferson's origin in his very first comic because he is also a street level hero like Cage. How about doing a little research next time. How else would you convey that his suit taps in to his powers to help him do things like deflect bullets? Not possible with a leather suit like the other shows without lame effects. I personally LOVED the Meteor Man costume. I'm willing to bet money you're not black. No self respecting black man as you claim to be would use the term "the blacks". Nice try, cracka'! Maybe wait and see the movie. I bet you have made assumptions in the past only to be wrong, so just wait. You couldn't be more WRONG. If that was the case then you worded it wrong. Go back and read it again and point out exactly where you are asking for other's opinion and NOT if they agree with your opinion. Hope you don't pull a muscle reaching like that.
