Geez Louise! I had no idea that Jesus was such a boozehound! But there's got to be a way--Right? If we can see it on old IMDb-posts on this web-site, that means that they have to be formatted that way in the HTML-code when the pages load on our computers. It's just a matter of figuring out what Jim's method is. It's good to see you back Never. I thought that perhaps you'd snuck away from this account for good to become the next moderator. And she was also a doctor? Could it be Happy Feet or Madagascar? Hey JanX9, do you agree with me that it can be done? I understand that there's no way of knowing for sure if I'm the same "SoggyBottom" or if you're the same "JanX9" from IMDb, but so what? If some people get stuck with posts that belonged to somebody else, they can ignore them (or delete them if they bug them that much to see them in their posting-histories). I think bringing as many of the "dead" posts back to life as possible would be a great thing for MovieChat! Welcome Roni! I think that this is just going to be a discussion forum. I do like you do--hop back and forth from IMDb--I don't do the script-thingee either. We are hoping that more features will be added like we grew accustomed to at IMDb, like markup, spoilers, private-messaging, Friends-list, option to list more posts and threads per page, etc. Did you notice the Trending-bar at the top? That's something really cool that we never saw at IMDb. Every time a movie's board gets posted to, an angel gets its wings! (or something like that anyway) You can thank Jim for getting this going. He's a one-man operation who has done all of this in a short amount of time, and it just keeps getting better all the time! "Can I log into my old user name from IMDb? So if someone replied to a post I made from my old (archived) IMDb posts, I would know about it?" Nope JanX9, but I think that's a great idea. If you kept the same username as you had at IMDb, I think that they should allow us the option to merge our old IMDb-posts into our current accounts. I don't know if it's possible, but if so, there's at least 2 of us that would love to see it happen. Good point DT123! I guess we'll just have to keep bumping this thread back up. These are some ideas that I'd like to see added... I'd like to option to be able to see 100 threads per page & 100 posts per page (instead of 25). I'd like to have the ability to do markup and spoilers. I'd like to see a fix when the posts get bunched up all the way to the right (I'm not sure how IMDb dealt with this but their posts didn't look anywhere near as bad). I'd like to be able to send Private Messages. I'd like to have all of my old IMDb-posts linked to my account so I can find them in my posting history. I'd like to see the 'Ignore' feature become a 'Block' (so that it goes both ways), and the ability to 'Un-block" someone if I change my mind. But yeah, Jim has done an amazing job with this site so far in the short time that it's been up, and I'm sure that it'll just keep getting better! Now it's clickable...Click Me You know--I'm not a big fan of moderators, but I really like 9, so if 9 is our first moderator, that's fine by me! {and if April is on my side, then maybe I've done good here...Hey, maybe I should go into detective-work!} It's actually an episode of Monsters, not Tales from the Darkside... The Gift But they're not trapped by a woman upstairs, so it may be something else entirely that the OP is looking for. I prefer 'Trick or Treat', although I think that the ending was rushed and could have been done a little better (See my other thread on that). I never really got into 'Halloween Candy', and I think that the main reason is because while I've always felt that you should happily give Trick-Or-Treaters their treats on Halloween night (as we got them when we were kids), it's okay if you choose not to--Just turn off your lights and don't answer the door. I actually feel bad for the old man for getting toiled-papered and his windows soaped the previous year just because he didn't pass out candy. So he actually has a right to be upset at the bratty little buggers. It's only when he gives that one Trick-Or-Treater the goblin-goo that I feel that he really crossed the line. Yeah, that goblin-creature was really cool-lookin', but to torture the poor old man for 2 straight weeks (Well, it was just overnight, but it must've felt like 2 weeks considering his condition when he was found) doesn't seem justified to me at all. He should've hassled him for a little while and then moved on to the next grump with no Halloween spirit. But it's one of the highest-rated episodes on IMDb, so I guess that I'm in the minority on this one, and that's cool. One thing that I have noticed is that people have widely-varied opinions on these episodes, and that makes for some interesting reading and is what I love about these boards. Additional thought: One con about both of these episodes was how predictable they were... A cantankerous old fart is mean to kids on Halloween... Hmmm, I wonder how this is going to turn out. 9 had 1235 posts before apparently deleting all of them one by one a week ago (except for one). And if 1235 posts isn't enough to be considered an active member, then I'd like to know what is. He says right here that he would be coming back soon... 9's Only Remaining Post So why delete 1235 posts if he's coming back soon? What is he trying to hide? Also, in the thread where Jim asked who wanted to be a moderator, 9 was the second one to volunteer. So I think you're on to something CactusPants. He's either been in training for a week or lurking around hoping we would forget all about him (or both). Yeah, 9 deleted all of his posts and left over a week ago...to start fresh one week later as a moderator! My guess is that 9 is now Moderator1. I absolutely love this episode, but there's one thing about it that doesn't make much sense to me, and maybe one of our good Tales From the Darkside experts can help me out... So the dollhouse seems to have a way of taking everything inside of a house, shrinking it down, and putting it all inside of itself. Apparently, it does this overnight (while everyone is sound asleep), and (as we find out) the Hummels are now the latest victims (just like the Geezenstacks were previously). Uncle Richard comes in, and (to his horror) finds out what happened to the Hummels (which is exactly the same thing that happened the last time that he found this dollhouse all by itself in a home). Later when the real-estate lady comes in, we find out that Uncle Richard has been shrunken and added to list of victims (He must've lost his balance and fallen in shock since he's now on the floor). So is the real-estate lady going to be the next victim? When does the list of victims end? When I first saw this episode years ago, I thought that Uncle Richard (after seeing what happened to the Hummels) left the house (since he would still be full-size since he would've missed the overnight 'shrinkening'), and that the guy on the floor must be Sam Hummel (running around trying to figure out what happened right before he got his last breath of life sucked out of him and officially became a doll forever). Fast-forward to the age of the internet where I am now able to read many reviews and find out after all of these years that I've had it all wrong and that it was actually Uncle Richard lying on the floor. So now I'm trying to make sense of this new-found knowledge. When Uncle Richard found the dollhouse at the previous house, why didn't it add him to that collection? Is part of the rule that you have to be related to the family? Apparently, you don't have to be living there (as Uncle Richard did not). Or is the rule that it keeps going until it has at least 4 people (since we all know that you need at least 4 to fill a dollhouse). If so, then Uncle Richard was lucky that there were 4 Geezenstacks! Or is the rule that it only adds you to the collection if you've figured out what's happening? I've read the short story by Frederic Brown, but that doesn't help because it's not even about an evil dollhouse--It's about a witch who turns the people into dolls once they give the Geezenstack-dolls up. So please share your thoughts (whoever you are). I can't wait to hear them! Rutti-Tute, I didn't say that's what I thought it was. That's just what Google came up with, so I thought I'd pass it on to you just in case. I may not have seen that scene--I thought perhaps that I had, but maybe I was just wishing that I had. I wish I could remember Tutti-Frutti. All I can tell you is that when I read what you originally posted, it sounded familiar, and I can definitely see that scene happening, so I think it did really happen...somewhere. I did see that you already posted this on IMDForums, and boy is that administrator over there a real A-hole! My latest google-attempt came up with The Monster Squad (a movie I never saw), so check this link out... The Monster Squad It has a character who sounds like the one you're looking for, but I don't think the movie has a boat ride. It does sound familiar Tutti (or should I call you John?), so I think that I have seen something like it (probably years ago). I tried doing all sorts of Google-searches on it, but the only thing that seems to keep coming up is Harold & Maude. You might also try your luck on these sites... IMDForums I Need to Know & IMDB2's I Need to Know I wish I could help you Tutti. It actually sounds familiar to me too, but I just can't think of it. You don't seem to be getting too much help on this board, so you may want to post it here too... IMDb's I Need to Know And you might want to "Ignore" (a new feature just added on the lower-right side of the posts) Corky (or at least don't reply to him anymore). At first I thought he was being honest when he said "The Boat Ride", but when I looked up that title, there is no such movie, so he's just messin' with ya.
