Excellent casting across the board for unknown and known names.. She just is not a good actress. I can't stay up with this show because every time she speaks the show loses me. Can't stand her voice... so boring boring and really she can show no emotion. Why do we have to deal with her?

shareI totally agree. I hated Her on 24. and I've never liked anything she's done since I've seen her on 24 until now. Her voice truly sounds like she smoked 10 packs a day for 20 years. Awful voice. grating, annoying. and just generally hard to follow anything she says, or her often terrible acting range.
Other then that there have been some bad "space" scenes that has bugged the hell out of me! Like the Guy opening his mask in space, to pull something out. The one just getting shut out in space but kept his eyes open. Even taking a deep breath of air. Or the fact that Julie Mao while in last episode took a sip from a "soda" in space(liquid would of been everywhere)...lmao. Well I guess if you can over look some of the technical failures of the show it's pretty entertaining story line.

shareI actually like her a lot.. not only that, check her IMDB profile photo and then realize that she's 63 yrs old and has been in 50+ films, so you are getting the Iranian equivalent of Anne Bancroft, who she reminds me of, both physically and her vocal range & delivery - also remember she is Persian/Iranian (likely speaks what, Farsi? I dunno that much..) and speaking in English so she's more deliberate b/c her brain is thinking translation and acting both..
Aside from her, I am more upset that everyone's always just SO ANGRY, it's like each actor took such a nihilistic view of their characters that no one seems to want to cooperate to get anything done, they always have to argue and waste five min screen time just to stay in a room or leave! after awhile, it grates on the avg viewer more than a little..
this is kinda bleak for a space story - best to maybe go into orbit, nuke the entire series site from a safe place, lol..

People dislike the best of actors, & like the worst of actors. To each his own. But as for her voice, she has always had that voice. There was an interview a long time ago & someone asked her about it. She got it from her mother. It's not any different than someone who has a high pitched voice-like Kristin Chenowith.
