Shohreh Aghdashloo gotta go...

Excellent casting across the board for unknown and known names.. She just is not a good actress. I can't stay up with this show because every time she speaks the show loses me. Can't stand her voice... so boring boring and really she can show no emotion. Why do we have to deal with her?

I started a similar topic. Good show but she is horible

reply

Agreed, she sounds like a honey badger getting castrated without anesthesia, highly annoying.
Other than that, very cool show!

Came here for the same reason. Enjoying the show for the most part (other than Thomas Jane's and Dominique Tipper's ridiculously stupid hair-dos) but her "acting" is bothering me to no end and part of it I think is her bad enunciation of words but added to that is she has all the emotional range of a block of wood.

I think she is fantastic! I want to see and hear more of her! I LOVE her voice!

I watched an extended interview she did (30+ minutes) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

So tired of people attacking my favorite characters in shows.

I quit watching after 2 eps. Her Voice and generally her character was BAD

reply

Wow. Your loss.

reply

I really like her. I love her voice, so different. I find it quite pleasing to listen to her speak.

reply

My only beef with her is that they changed her so much. I can say as much for the whole series so far, why change something that works so well?

Crrisjen Avasarala was tough as nails, unflinching, and swore like a sailor. This new Avasarala flinches, is polite albeit politically ruthless, and is generally so much changed that I don't recognise her. I actually like Aghdashloo and I like her voice, I even think her look and voice could be a good fit. But her diffident attitude, lack of stubbornness, and her lack of honesty (Avasarala was always honest and excruciatingly blunt, bless her soul) make this new version unlikable.

I don't mind her character, as it anchors the story to Earth, and I have no problems with her as an actress...

but my god, her VOICE! It drives me up the friggin' wall to listen to her speak.

What's the rules these days, PC-wise, if you object to someone because you don't like the sound of their voice?
