A stupid guy who tries to bed every woman whom he encounters. Who is also a greedy liar, ready to do anything to get money. In the end he's not changed - tries to bed the third sister (who of course is very happy about that). And he's supposedly the hero whom the watchers (i.e. mostly children) are supposed to praise and learn from? What is the message that this movie is sending? For boys: do whatever you want, cheat etc., you're a hero if you believe in it and everyone will love you. For girls: wait patiently for your hero, and even if he's a cheater (in all meanings of this word) love him nevertheless because he's a great guy.
Can you imagine a movie where a man (let's call him Theodorus) just after one day of knowing a woman cries about a broken heart, goes mad and completely destroys his own life?
I understand that this is a century old story, but please Disney, let it remain in it's grave of history, the only place where it belongs.
If this is the worst movie you've ever seen then you've really avoided a number of stinkers in your life thus far and have seen more hits than misses. Good on your part as a movie fan I suppose, but seriously calling this the worst movie ever is just a giant eye roller.
It's so sad people like you insist on calling Oz the "worst movie ever". Go watch REALLY bad movies like Never Say Never, Battlefield Earth and Leonard Part 6 which are universally HATED. The movie was okay, but not THAT bad. The backstory of some characters were really messed up, but this movie brought back some of the "magic" that the 1939 film had.
Every single movie, in every single board is considered the worst movie ever by someone.... the forums here are a cesspool for hate, rage and ignorance, 90% i avoid going into them or on them because theirs alot of obsessive insane people who freq. contribute there opinion disguised as fact... frankly make your own mind up dont ever let any of the *beep* in these forums sway you in any way...
well to be honest, Alice in Wonderland WAS a piece of crap. I am not even just being a hater or jumping on the hate bandwagon, but that movie was boring and incoherent and just a big ol' mess. That was Tim Burton's pathetic attempt at making a CGI movie
^This exactly. I came close to turning off Alice in Wonderland so many times. I didn't particularly like Oz and would never sit through it again, but it was bearable. Alice was abysmal.

The original Oz was an opportunistic fraud, too... This version doesn't do anything different, besides give him a fuller arc. Lessons come in all shades, and there's as much potential to learn from a cad who partially redeems himself as there is a more steadfast hero who is immune to temptation.
"Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?!"
TOTALLY AGREE!! What is Disney thinking? Is this really the message we want to send to our kids?? I'm so disappointed with Disney. If this plot wasn't brought out by Disney, I probably could bare with it. But, think of how many kids under the influence of this movie (esp by Disney) would think they could do all the wrong things and hurt people deliberately and still be excused? And girls should just suck it up even if you are mistreated. And girls, if you be good all the time, eventually you'll get the guy! SERIOUSLY, people ask why some girls think if they wait and be abused long enough, they'll eventually get the guy, where did that idea come from? Seeing this movie, dawns on me that THIS is where the idea came from. It's rooted in the hearts of girls by stupid movies like this!!

Your stupidity is sad. You missed the whole message. He starts out as a shady conman and then redeems himself and becomes a good man who helps people other than himself. That's the theme: that just because you've done bad things doesn't mean you can't get a 2nd chance. That's why Oz shouts "I can change" to the sky when he's afraid he's going to die.
