The World's End was refreshing, hilarious, deep, smart, dynamic and touching at the same time.
How the hell that stupid, pointless movie about idiot celebrities is better than this movie?
Pineapple Express was funny, but This is the End is not even close to it.
I also noticed a pretty big difference in age demographics comparing these movies. Maybe this explains everything.
The World's End is all those things and I love it.
This is the End is pure slapstick and I love it too.
Honestly aside from a similar title and the world ending the movies are incomparable.
I'm confused why these movies are being compared so much. One is a typical world's end movie spiced up with comedy and celebrities playing themselves while other one is a funny reliving of past glory days that turns into fighting aliens with a random explosion at the end. This is the End had a few highlights while The World's End started well and went downhill from there.

I didn't care for either movie on the first viewing but both were much better the second time around. Especially "This Is The End." All in all, "World's End" is the better movie but both are pretty damn funny if you're not a tight @$$ about it.

I liked them both, but for different reasons. I honestly laughed out loud more at This is the End, but I liked The World's End a little better as a film. I like the science fiction premise over the religious premise as well.

This is the End was a fine movie. Different kind of comedy, there's room for both of them.
Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were better than The World's End, however.
If you want to indict a country based on IMDB ratings then, well, umm, be my guest. I'll roll my eyes in a corner somewhere.
I don't know if you're blaming Americans or maybe I am misreading you - in any case, Pineapple Express had some hilariously funny moments in between some weirdness (and featured some irritating actors who apparently everyone, except for myself, love - yuck!). That said, it cannot even touch World's End's Linet! I love this movie to bits and from about 40 minutes in, I was in fits of hyena-worthy cackling for 20+ minutes straight and I am a full-blooded American!
Drunk, Fat, and Stupid is no way to go through life, son.

I liked both movies, but actually enjoyed this is the end more. I enjoy those raunchy comedies.
