'This is the End' has a higher rating... americans.

this is the end was ACTUALLY funny, they actually had jokes.

not inside jokes or references to old movies like The World's end did, but actual jokes.

Also the story in This is the End made a lot more sense. it was more coherent that the World's end.
the World's end made no sense, why did they keep drinking? Yes they had to continue going into the pubs so that the robots didn't suspect anything

BUT WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST ORDER SHOTS OR SOMETHING SMALL???? OR WATER?
Why drink the beer at all?

This movie made no freaking sense, it was stupid, it was full of jokes that only the creators and the fanboys would "laugh" At.
This is the End had some stupid actors in it, I agree some of them are dumb actors.

But the story made more sense and the movie was actually funny. this movie sucked

Haha, Americans? Plenty of Americans hated and loved both films.

I personally found This is the End to be much funnier and I laughed consistently throughout.
However, World's End is clearly the better overall film, had some nice themes, better developed characters, really everything was better other than laugh out loud humor.

That's just my opinion of course, which I can't claim is the opinion of an entire nation.

I considered them to be equally good for different reasons.

They're a different breed.

Think about it. Who votes in the early days after the release of a movie? The people who took time to travel to a theater & PAID good money to watch it. Imagine doing that for TITE! You'd have to be a brain-damaged stoner. So, what do you do next? You come here and give it a high rating. otoh, S. Pegg doesn't have nearly the cult following in the US & pub-crawling isn't as popular among the younger crowd as getting stoned is. So, while I'd say the same general demographic saw the 2 movies in theaters, they're more "passionate" (in a stoner way that is) about TITE's story.

ps: they are BOTH highly over-rated. TITE was completely awful. TWE less so, but the last half of TWE was pretty damned bad.

Sad. Just sad. Sad that in the 21st century there are still people who need to make ridiculous statements ("I'm better than you because I like this movie and ALL OF YOU like that movie more") like this when they know perfectly well better. Or maybe you really don't know better. Crawl out from under your rock, in that case.

Honestly, I don't like Seth Rogen, can't stand James Franco or Jonah Hill, don't care either way about Craig Robinson and didn't have a clue who Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel were until I saw This is the End. I watched it on cable one day because there wasn't much else on.

And I was surprised to find I enjoyed it. It's not a thinker, sure. You figure out what's going on pretty quickly. But it's fun to watch these guys come to the realization that they've become so self-important and obnoxious that they're getting left behind because of it. And fun to see Franco forget the lesson he'd JUST learned and end up becoming lunch for McBride's crew.

I LOVED watching Aziz Ansari drop into that pit 'cause I find him so annoying in absolutely everything I've seen him in, including his name-dropping standup specials on Comedy Central. How is it not fun to see Emma Watson misinterpret the conversation going on outside her door, then bash Rogen in the face with an axe handle before she steals the guys' food and disappears back out into the chaos?

OP is the IMDb version of the person who looks down his/her nose at everyone who watches broadcast TV or listens to pop music because (insert Frasier Crane accent here) "I only watch PBS and listen to NPR and classical music."

Must be all kinds of uncomfortable sitting down with that stick where it is...


BTW, I haven't seen The World's End yet, but I just noticed it on the VOD listings and may watch it later just to see which movie is *better*. LOLOLOLOL

As an American, I am here to register my opinion. I laughed at This is the End. It was funny. I laughed much more at The World's End. I saw This is the End once, and I am good with that. I have watched The World's End many times, and I will watch it some more.

There is no debate about which is the better film. One is good for a laugh. The other will keep you laughing and smirking over several views.

This isn't a morality contest.

I'm a Brit and found This is the end superior to this weak offering in every aspect. This film was in no way "hilarious"
