The World's End was refreshing, hilarious, deep, smart, dynamic and touching at the same time.
How the hell that stupid, pointless movie about idiot celebrities is better than this movie?
Pineapple Express was funny, but This is the End is not even close to it.
I also noticed a pretty big difference in age demographics comparing these movies. Maybe this explains everything.
I just don't understand how movies like this from Pegg/Frost fail at the US box office. They are funny, quick, smart, and charismatic actors. I just don't get it. And it's a movie about drinking, like boom 17-25yr old crowd should have drawn to this easily. I just don't get it. I am american and loved it, saw it twice. Different funny than This is the end, but more laughs for sure. Pineapple Express was great too. Hard to compare the 2: "stoner/buddy genre" to "smart quick english humor", so to speak. I love both for different reasons and wouldn't want to pick one if I had to. Hope Pegg makes another quality comedy like this as the lead, I'm sick of him exploring other projects. Stick to your wheelhouse and make us happy.

The World's End is ahead now. But I don't understand why people get caught up on the ratings. They're just an arbitrary figure denoting a group of people's different taste.

I found both movies funny however I laughed a lot more at This Is The End I also found it less predictable and more clever than Worlds End. Its a matter of taste i suppose.

This Is The End is a mindless comedy with a lot of laughs and not much else. If you are homophobic or over religious you probably wont like it.
My dad is almost 70 and seen This Is The End twice, and loved it. He also thought The Worlds End was great.
Simon and Nick did a Si-Fi movie with Seth Rogen called Paul. I know Rogen only did the voice of Paul, but it was also a great movie.
P.S. Shaun Of The Dead is one of my favorite movies along with Evil Dead 2, the original Star Wars trilogy, and The Lord Of The Rings.

As an American, I drove 75 minutes to see The World's End. I never even heard of This is the End till I read this thread.
Oh and by the way...Pineapple Express? One of the dumbest, most boring movies that I almost saw. Turned it off after 30 minutes of that inane babble. Had I gone to see it at the theater, I would have demanded my money back.
I think the typical "This is the End" audiences are likely to go into a comedy with a bunch of friends talking, drinking beer, don't pay that much attention to the movie, just laugh when something that has to do with sex or alcohol comes along, had a good time, say they it's the best movie ever and give it a 10 here.
When these kind off people watch "the World's End" they don't pay attention and just don't get what's supposed to be funny and might give it a 1 here.
"The World's End" audiences (or just proper movie watchers) watching that movie will pay attention, get the small jokes, the interesting characters, the references may watch it again, compare it to "shaun of the dead" and "hot fuzz" and give it probably at least an 8.
When the proper movie watchers watch "This is the End" they watch it, pay attention. Will be bored for a rather big part of the movie, laugh a couple of times and probably will give it something lower than a 7.
If you want the retarded truth about how certain people rate movies you should check out the top rating reviews from scary movie V, I've seen more positive reviews giving 7s than the 10s there.
In the end you shouldn't take the imdb ratings as very reliable, mostly to compare them to similar movies. Just notice how hardly one proper movie reviewer on youtube has given this is the end a higher rating.
And maybe some people can't handle the fact that they're likely to grow up to be like Gary King.
I can't figure that out and I am an American. I watched both films and it is clear as day which is the better film. The World's End.
