Scarier than [REC]?

Just wondering if anyone has seen any movies scarier than REC. I loved this film and thought it was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, especially one of the scariest. Anyone have any recommendations for other equally terrifying films?

reply

[REC] is the scariest, jumpiest, tension-boosting genuine horror movie on the market!

A Tale of Two Sisters is the scariest movie I've ever seen. Didn't really find Rec to be at all scary, except for a bit at the end.

The Exorcist.
The Shining.
The Blair Witch Project. (Bring a portable DVD player/laptop into a tent in the woods and watch it with headphones)

undeadmachine669's list is on point.... along with a tale of two sisters as someone already mentionned, and noroi the curse (scariest pov-type horror imo), eden lake is pretty violent too, and some others i cant recall...

reply

I think eden lake was more horrifying for me, really disturbing. REC was very good though.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

reply

eden lake was very good indeed

The Orphanage was terrifying.

The Exorcist and Halloween are still the scariest movies ever though in my opinion. The Shining and The Thing are up there too.

This film was tremendously scary, but here are a few films I found scarier:
The Exorcist
The Omen
Don't Look Now
The Wicker Man (the original, of course)
The Killing Kind
Jacob's Ladder
Requiem for a Dream

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III.

This is Kolyma - a graveyard for the lost.

Rec is probably the scariest film I've seen. It's clever and not at all vulgar.

-Oh, Agent Starling, do you think you can dissect me with this blunt little tool?-

reply

I didn't find this scary all that much.

If you like really scary movies, watch Ju-On (Japanese) (remade as the Grudge) or Shutter (Thai).

which movie is more scary than rec? every other movie including sex and the city. scared the hell out of me.

reply

That's a good one. :-))
