Just wondering if anyone has seen any movies scarier than REC. I loved this film and thought it was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, especially one of the scariest. Anyone have any recommendations for other equally terrifying films?

Really thought that Rec was not scary, but interesting to watch nonetheless! As one of the previous posters stated, the shaky camera filming became kind of abused in recent years and I happened to watch Rec after seeing several other films, including Paranormal Activity (all parts so far) and The Conjuring which could have spoilt the fun for me.
The first part of Paranormal Activity was, in my opinion, scarier than Rec, but to be honest, I do not think there are any really scary horror films out there. All of them seem to use the same trick of frightening you by some kind of ugly monster jumping at the screen very quickly. Recently this sort of stuff has been done through often horribly executed CGI (can they not hire more gifted illustrators?). There is very little suspense in horror films otherwise which is what I would like to experience more in this genre. Speaking of CGI and suspense, if you are into gaming, try Silent Hill 1 and 2. Now those are scary games! Some say Amnesia: The Dark Descent is also scary as hell, but I have not played it.
I enjoyed the film, but it wasn't the least bit scary to me.

There's something wrong with Esther.
The Blair Witch Project - a very polarising film and certainly not everyone's cup of tea but it works for me.
