Ah, the old 'I will be seeking professional help'. As he sees his career disappearing in the rear-view mirror.

I get the feeling he may have seriously pissed someone off in the past (not talking about the women making the allegations), the way The Guardian's gone after him on this. Like they've been waiting for an opportunity.

reply

First ever case of a Bafta ending someone's career rather than boosting it? Also I notice none of the women pictured in the Guardian article are black which I find rather interesting.

reply

Why is that interesting

Clarkes co stars turn on him https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9532229/Co-stars-Clarkes-Bulletproof-say-sex-harassment-claims-UK-film-industrys-best-kept-secret.html

reply

Most definitely. The number of women speaking up is too big to ignore.

reply

I see that article from The Mail says The Guardian have been working on the story for months.

reply

That's the longest sting operation.

And I guess a lot of double and triple-checking!

Scum. Sub-human scum.

Agreed. I hope they fry this f**ker

New details emerged yesterday of unscheduled acting workshops held by Clarke at the London School of Dramatic Art.

Jake Taylor, the school’s principal, said Clarke joined the board in 2011 in an advisory role and would hold question-and-answer sessions for students. He added: ‘It came to our attention that on one occasion he took it upon himself to turn one of these Q&A sessions into a practical acting workshop.

‘We were informed that in this unsanctioned class he set up improvisation exercises in which students were told they had to get undressed and get ready for bed.

‘Our response was to no longer schedule Noel to take unsupervised sessions with immediate effect.’

Oh dear.

The BBC became the latest broadcaster to sever links with the 45-year-old actor;

One co-star described his behaviour as the ‘best kept secret’ in the British film industry;

Details emerged of Clarke encouraging a class of drama students to ‘get undressed and get ready for bed’;

Bafta chiefs voiced fears that the fall-out from giving a prestigious award to Clarke could ‘destroy’ the organisation;

The British Film Institute, which was involved in funding some of Clarke’s projects, said it was ‘extremely concerned’ about the allegations.

I guess Bafta (and the BFI) will be damaged by this but can't see how it could be destroyed by it

In hindsight his bafta acceptance speech where he talked about himself being an inspiration for 'little black boys and girls' could now be seen as a sort of desperate last attempt to stop the Weinstein style Guardian article (as he knew about it and was trying to stop it) like saying 'look if you destroy me you'll be destroying a role model for young black people' which to a far left paper like the Guardian couldve been a cause for pause

also the way his response to the accusations started off with 'putting inclusivity and diversity at the forefront of my work' and then apologising for any inappropriateness echos Spaceys response to the accusations at him and using his homosexuality almost as a defence/excuse and his apologies..

reply

That's an interesting point.

reply

also his 'im not gonna apologize' yeh he was talking about his last bafta acceptance but maybe also be now seen as a commentary on other stuff
