Interesting article. This has all gone very quiet again.

Where's the court case?

reply

What sort of court case? I don't know if he did anything illegal. I'm honestly not sure of the laws in the UK regarding sexual harassment. I think, and I could be very wrong, that he was mostly accused of inappropriate behaviour. I don't know if he exposed himself like Barrowman, which would be illegal if someone wanted to press charges in that case.

Are you wondering why his accusers aren't suing him?

Please know I'm not challenging you, I'm honestly curious about what you are thinking with this.

reply

Yes, I don't think there have been allegations of actual sexual assault, have there? Nor any form of stalking, as I recall. So possibly not anything the police can intervene in at this stage (I'm in the UK, btw). Even if there is something, they'll need a formal complaint/allegation directly from the victim before they can act. As for civil actions (including, possibly, employment tribunals), maybe. The primary thing seems to me atm to be the doors that are closing to him, the damage to his professional reputation and therefore his livelihood. In other words, in the pocket is where this is probably going to hurt him most (at least for now).

reply

I was hoping he would be convicted since there was said to be inappropriate contact that he had made.

reply

If he did, I hope that the victim takes it to the police and not just the media.

There's a saying isn't there, 'Be nice to people on your way up; you might meet them on your way down'. Wonder if he did that. I suspect not.

reply

i doubt he will be able to come back from this film/tv/media wise. he's most likely finished in the industry for good (as him giving up his company suggests). i suspect he'll be using what money he earned to invest in property or shares or some (non media) business. and of course hes got the impending police investigations to deal with (which he'll obviously be hoping come to nothing - otherwise he'll have even bigger problems to deal with)

Playing the mental health card. So predictable. Some people just don't know when to fuck off, do they?
