Name a role that made you a fan of an actor/actresses

You might've even liked them before but this particular performance in a show, film or stage play made them one of your favorite entertainers.

There are a lot but here are a few of mine

1. Timothy Olyphant - Justified (2010 TV)

2. Idris Elba - Luther (2010 TV)

3. Sam Rockwell - Seven Psychopaths (2012)

4. Mads Mikkelsen - Hannibal - (2013 TV)

5. Lena Headey - Game of Thrones (2011 TV)

Robin Williams--"Mork & Mindy." I know he appeared on "Happy Days" first, but I first saw him on this and really followed his career closely after that. I still miss him.

R. Lee Ermey--"Full Metal Jacket." I think it's the greatest acting performance of all time. I miss him also.

Michael J. Fox--"Family Ties." One of those actors that spanned my teenage years and holds a special place in my heart.

Bruce Willis--"Moonlighting." I thought this was such a great show. Sad to see his health issues today...I have enjoyed a lot of his films.

Jim Caveziel--"The Passion Of The Christ." I thought he did a fantastic job in this...he's had a pretty nice career and I pull for him to do well (he seems like a genuinely nice man off-screen).

Mel Gibson--"Forever Young." I never saw any of the "Lethal Weapon" movies...I saw this one in the theater when it came out in 1992 and I really liked it. I thought Gibson was very good in this and appreciate his career as both an actor and director.

Joe Morton--"Crossroads." I loved his performance in this and have followed his career pretty closely afterward. I think he's a very underrated great actor...I love the way he speaks and how he delivers his lines.

I got to meet R. Lee Ermey at a Glock event once and he really did seem like a genuinely nice guy. My daughter was 10 years old at the time and he humorously talked to her in the “drill instructor” voice about the meaning Semper fidelis. The guy was a class act.

Awesome story...thank you for sharing! I never met Mr. Ermey either, but I've worked with a lot of military people over the years (mostly ex-military) and a couple of them met him (at events similar to the one you and your daughter met him). He was very much a Marine, but he was a very intelligent man and I think he was a great actor.
