James Buchanan as 1st?
Mountaintop Motel Massacre (1983) is another good one people don’t talk about often.
Would like to add Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker (1981) to this list.
Susan Terrell as the unhinged aunt and Bo Svenson as the macho homophobe cop plus the bizarre story really make this one a delightful watch.
One bit of trivia is that supposedly it was filmed in the early 80s but not released until 1987, and it does have that feel.
Louise Lasser was fantastic in my opinion. It was almost like she was in a completely different film from the rest of the cast. The binge eating on the floor by the refrigerator was epic.
