I'm tired of buying DVDs (and even Blu-Rays and VHS for that matter).

I have around 1000 literally and it is TOO much. Soon, I will watch and obtain my favorite movies online if they're not available on Amazon Prime or NetFlix etc, even if they are among my all time favorite movies, not to mention some of them are barely available.

I have been buying DVDs for nearly 20 years and feel I've had enough. Is that alright?

Cheers. And from April or so no DVD buying from me.

Some guy put his entire collection of movies on ebay for a million dollars, along with photos showing room after room with shelves full of movies. There is no option to buy individual movies. You have to buy it all!

He'll have a LONG wait then to say the LEAST, people more likely will NEVER buy it.

Peewee Herman wouldn’t sell his bike for a million dollars because it was the best bike in the whole wide world. That’s how I feel about my movies.

I was so bummed back at the turn of the century when I accumulated a huge DVD collection only to see blu ray take off and after that, 4K scan. It's like ugh every time I waste money trying to re-collect on better format (I cut off after blu ray went 4k and said I'm done with re-collecting again).

A lot of times a well-mastered regular blu-ray will look just fine on a UHD TV. The 4K encoding does have better color, contrast etc. But to me it's more like a little extra boost instead of a huge improvement like going from DVD to blu-ray was. So I'm only getting 4K discs of movies that I don't already have on blu-ray.

It also goes with saying that out of hundreds of films I own, if not a thousand, there are a lot that I only watch once every few years literally and some films I watch once every ten years, and given how there are so many movies in existence, it may not even take a life to watch all of them and there is no point in owning all of them, and if some films I can come across that I consider among favorites that I either cannot find or no longer have enough space at home or desire to spend money on purchasing them, I can watch it online or wait till it comes on TV and that way it is somewhat fun as something to look forward to without going out of your way crazy to do so.

VHS WAS AMAZING...DVD WAS A HUGE STEP FORWARD...BLU RAY IS PERFECTION...4K IS A NOVELTY.

I now prefer to buy digital copies due to lack of space, but they almost always cost more than dvd/blu-ray.

Sounds like you have enough. Just keep buying your favorite.
