Bands you hate.

Here's mine. Don't argue, these are all facts.*

Creed
Maroon 5
The Beach Boys
BTS
Val Halen
Bloodhound Gang
Kiss
Imagine Dragons
The Chainsmokers
Bon Jovi
Nickelback
One Direction
Poison

The Jonas Brothers
Mötley Crüe
Limp Bizkit
Fall Out Boy
Good Charlotte

*May not necessarily be a fact because this is all opinion.

1. Hootie and the Blowfish/Green Day (tied)--I have never hated a band as much as these two. I would grit my teeth whenever I heard them come on.

2. Bon Jovi. Worst "rock" band ever.

3. Cameo. This was a one hit wonder R and B band of the 1980s that had a very strident sound to them. The lead singer had this very annoying way of singing.

4. Run-DMC. Hated them then, hated them now.

reply

I downloaded the Run DMC discography a few years ago to see what the hype was. It was all dated and music I couldn't take seriously.

reply

They got hyped because they were considered the first "crossover" rap group. Well, maybe they were the first, but they were a crap group and they marked the downfall of rap music, IMO.

reply

Green Day, not the worst band, shouldn't be lumped in with this other crap. Brain Stew was on my playlist for quite a while.
https://youtu.be/UNq9gmY_Oz4 I love the guitar piece in that song.

reply

I'm not going to begrudge your enjoyment of Green Day at all. In fact, I'll admit that I actually like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

I just detested their pseudo-punk gimmick. The person who summed up their act the best was Fred Norris of The Howard Stern Show, who mocked them by singing, "This sounds like British rock to me." They were just another act that co-opted punk in a way that was obnoxious, kind of like how weabboos will co-opt Japanese culture by going, "Kawaii!" and doing the peace sign. Punk ran so much deeper than just a sound and look, and they co-opted it in a very cheap way that didn't pay the movement any real respect.

reply

I'm not a huge fan I just love that one song Brain Stew, but I think they had more to offer the music scene than the others, Maroon 5 etc. I think I have a irritation with stupid Maroon 5, not sure why.

reply

Bon Jovi's the best!!!

reply

U2

reply

I don't hate them but I never understood the hype.

reply

Crappy self indulgent crap faced

reply

They get a lot of hate, especially Bono, and especially since the iTunes incident, and rightly so.
Shame, because their music is not bad at all.

reply

I still can’t get it off my iPhone

reply

I've already replied and forgot about U2. I do actually hate(almost) U2. Bono is such a piece of crap.

reply

I like there earlier stuff more. Got some catchy stuff imo like the songs
Seconds
Drowning Man
Bullet the Blue Sky
Please
Out of Control
Desire
Exit
Bad

reply

I don't listen to bands that I don't like so I don't develop hate for bands.. much.

KISS for example, Gene Simmons can really get on a person's nerve enough to dislike his whole band.

reply

Sometimes they're shoved down our throats.

reply

That is true. In a club/bar or a friends party/house/car. I didn't think of that.

reply

I don't think that there are any bands that I hate. I dislike songs more than bands. I don't care for Rush, or the Tragically Hip but mostly if I don't like something I avoid it so I don't really develop hatred.

Even bands which I dislike can pop out a song or two that grows on me.

reply

Sometimes we see them everywhere and we can't avoid it. Just going to the mall and hearing the store play their music gets on my nerves.

reply

I agree that some songs can really get on my nerves. I just don't hate any band.

reply

Creed is good if you know them for more than 3 songs.

reply

You're right. Again I think the hatred is mainly because of Scott Stapp's personality and the fact that he's trying to copy Eddie Vedder with his singing style. You don't hear anybody complain about Alter Bridge, even though they're practically the same band with a different vocalist.

reply

Exactly. Everyone associates Creed with Stapp’s awful personality and the same three cheesy songs that raped radio airplay in 2002. Those who heard the full albums would discover much more introcate musicianship and songwriting. Altrr Bridge is, as you said, practically the exact same music as Creed but with a different singer, yet everyone finds Alter Bridge to be good.

reply

What are your favorite songs by Creed?

reply

Motely Crue
Poison
All 80s "glam"
Guns 'N Roses
Green Day
The Beatles
The Eagles
Bob Dylan
Boston
REO Speedwagon
Def Leppard after the 3rd album and the 3rd is iffy.
The Beach Boys
Black Sabbath
The Rolling Stones
The Grateful Dead and all "jam bands"
Most 60s stuff
ALL oldies
ALL rap/hip hop
Aerosmith
Metallica

reply

I agree with a lot. I disagree with The Stones, Sabbath and some Beatles is okay. As for the 60s, '67 on is when it started getting good.

reply

Aerosmith's not a band. They're a circus freak show.
