I thought I would hate it, but I found it to be fine. It's a stupid, cartoonish, comedic love story. I think, overall, you need to be in the right mood for this kind of film, but it is entertaining. Sadly, this films humor has dated over the years. A lot of the bits I have seen discussed on these forums I have watched, and they got a minor chuckle from me. Nothing stood out as particularly funny though. The film isn't bad, it's mildly entertaining. Just finished watching the film and I agree completely. This is horribly boring garbage. Don't waste your time. replies can debate over what happens when ... NARFLES THE GARTHOK!!! I don't care about the director and actor's relationship. I stand with OP on this one. I feel the movie had its high points and its lows, but overall was nothing to get excited about. If nothing better is on, then I'll watch it; but overall, I am neutral to this film. I agree with the above two posters; it's a dark comedy that tries to balance both. I think it succeeded. I would watch either if they were on TV. I guess that means I don't have a preference. I have no idea why someone would walk out of Top Secret! I have probably watched Top Secret! a little more than Airplane! These are good points that I think I agree with. Overall, I think the second was better as a standalone film. I do not know if this makes a difference, but each person only had so many arrows on hand. If you just wildly start firing as soon as they get in range, you will be wasting most of your ammunition. Best to wait until they are at a point when you know you have the best chance at hitting them. That being said, the etiquette argument made by leader is pretty good. That could actually be what was going on. I remember Red Planet not doing well, but I never realized it was the straw that broke Kilmer's back. Seriously though, it sounds like he was very difficult to work with. With the major blockbusters he had earlier in his career, maybe it's better he faded into the shadows. That's especially so if he wasn't willing to work with his fellow actors and directors. View all replies >
