There isn’t a director alive that could make a modern TCM movie that can touch the original. Tobe Hooper even knew this was an impossible feat hence why he gave us the dogshit that is Texas chainsaw massacre 2 The original Texas chainsaw massacre was like catching lightning in a bottle. It was filmed at the right time by the right director. It will never be matched I actually think part 1 was just ok, just barely above average. I thought the trailer was top notch but the constant cgi Pennywise just didn’t interest me after awhile Part 2 was boring as hell. I struggled to get through it and I honestly don’t remember anything about it Agree. I just watched the Batman last night and it’s far from terrible but I’ve seen this movie already numerous times. It’s like Se7en in the Batman universe. The fight scenes were ok but this type of movie does not really do Much for me anymore. I feel for modern writers as originality is very hard to find So I can bring up crime stats and people wouldn’t call me racist? 😂😂 So being born a billionaire and white is a sign of white privilege? Are there whites that are born poor? Blacks that are born into wealth? It has very little to do with skin color privilege .. more to do with class privilege I think the entire concept of white privilege is bizarre - worse yet is the examples people give of it lol Agree. While he would have made a great villain in a serial killer flicks, he wasn’t a good fit for Batman. This movie tried way too hard to be Se7en Yep, and it’s gets increasingly more difficult to truly escape through movies or tv shows. The messaging seems to be everywhere Hollywood won’t get a dime from me anytime soon The side that is insecure is the one that needs “safe spaces” 😂😂 8 bit Christmas felt very similar to this movie as it had enough charm to make it enjoyable yet at the same time fell a bit short. I almost turned 8-bit Christmas off a few times - it wasn’t bad by any means but didn’t really draw me in either In all fairness, writing a Christmas movie in 2022 is difficult. What ideas or tropes have we not seen already many times over? There’s only so many plot devices you can write around this holiday imo I guess so but I’m thinking they shot more scenes with the football character and ended up trimming them. The character just felt pointless and a strange fit for this movie Yeah they have not really given us much of a motive or backstory to Art the clown. Part 3 hopefully does It definitely has potential but it all depends on what they do with Art. They will have to start telling us more about him. Gore is fine but they can’t just keep making movies while only upping the gore and that will get old Agree 100%.. Art the clown has a great look but I found Terrifier to be underwhelming. The sequel is better but it’s still just a shock/gore movie. I’ll wait and see what background they give Art but I don’t think they can pull it off It’s weird as I’m watching season 4 right now. It’s enjoyable enough but every time the “villain” comes on screen my eyes glaze over as I just don’t care about seeing a cgi alien thing .. I mostly enjoy the time period the show takes place and characters. Without the nostalgia aspect though I don’t think this show would be nearly as popular That’s how one note most of tv and movies have went in terms of their political leanings. These days if you don’t have characters pushing ultra liberal narratives then that means the show is anti-woke and sexist racist blah blah blah Lucas is great but looks nothing like Costner lol No sensible drug dealer would front Rue any amount of drugs Rue does not really depict a hardcore junkie that well. We are supposed to believe she is a hardcore opiate addict in season 2 but she really doesn’t act like one. She just comes off as a mentally Ill teen that binges on drugs occasionally Euphoria is a solid show but it definitely goes into the “tries way too hard to be edgy” territory .
