I did too. I thought all of the acting was well done actually. The movie had all the right pieces and kept me entertained enough, just never elevated past being decent for me. You're not alone. It was watchable. Not really memorable in any way. Everything was just..fine. It is odd, but I love the premise. Poe obviously had an obsession with the macabre, so it's within reason that if he had stuck around West Point, he may have tried to involve himself in a murder case to get an inside view of things. Unfortunately this movie didn't really scratch the Poe itch for me. There were some references thrown in, but nothing that really tied into the story, unless I completely missed it. They really could have just used some fictional writer and it wouldn't have changed much for me. I'll have to check out the other one. Hadn't heard of it until now. Imagine sitting down to dinner as a guest and just noticing that picture as you are about to eat. I'm 100% sure my first question would be "Hey umm..what the fuck is THAT?" Sad for both Priscilla and her daughter Riley who also lost her brother to suicide not long ago. I'm not a fan. Just tastes like they threw some vanilla extract in Coke. A regular, ice cold Coke is hard to top. This blows my mind. They don't even look remotely similar to me. This is disingenuous, to say the least. His character being heralded as a guy icon all over social media. Pretty sure that's not the "right wing" doing that. It's getting to the point that any movie with any diversity in the cast is labeled woke. I hate the blatant pandering of Hollywood, but this movie wasn't preachy or focusing on any type of woke messaging. Also, pretty sure every single main character was white. Lol I'm surprised this board seems so split on this movie. People loved it or loathed it. I thought it was just decent. Got some laughs (the silent fight with Pitt & Lemon, and Pitt fighting the guy who he didn't know), but thought it could have been 30 minutes shorter. I love Michael Shannon, but as soon as he shows up the movie starts to drag a bit, IMO. The pizza has pineapple on it. No you're right, they did say that. I think I read it correctly and then as I was thinking about it, all the names got jumbled around in my head again. On a side note..Why did I think Angela Lansbury died like 15 years ago? Ant1238 covered the others. Serena Williams pops up on a screen as a digital personal trainer in the gym of the mansion and asks if "anyone wants to do a session, because I'm on the clock" while Blanc is having a conversation with someone in there. I guess I just didn't like the structure of the film. I hate when we are presented a story one way, and then given a revised version with a bunch of extra things that happened off camera. A lot of films do this, and I won't knock it, but it's not my bag. I guess I prefer my mysteries a little more straightforward where you are given subtle clues that allow you to draw a conclusion before a final reveal. Whereas this film brings you close to the end, then goes "Well, actually...here's what really happened.." and then presents you with a bunch of previously hidden information. It's what I'm gathering. I don't really have an opinion either way. I read somewhere that he had a pretty rough upbringing and does a lot to give back to the area he grew up, so he seems decent enough to me. Controversy sells though. I think he's just using it. He was on Dana White's podcast too. Something tells me he will be the next guy to go the Colby Covington route and start throwing out controversial political statements. Paddy did this on purpose to draw attention. Not a coincidence he randomly started shit with the 2 biggest and most influential MMA journalist/podcaster within a day or two of his fight. Reading through some of that poster's other comments here, I'm pretty sure they are brain dead. I'm going to sit back and let some other folks try the non-sentient lab meat first. Maybe even wait a decade or so to see if there are any lasting side effects like a useless third appendage growing out of your back. Funny. No idea where I got Buffalo from. Thanks for the correction. :) I wouldn't even be mad at Alice. Whatever, it's her company. She should have torn her "friend" a new asshole right in front of her boss though. Made her wait all that time knowing she was desperate and ready to move back to Buffalo with her dad, only to set her up for a 6 month unpaid internship without even telling her ahead of time.
