Was the imposition of such a truly marvelous cast on such a weak vehicle of a story.

Viewed a neo-retro-noir mystery though, you'd have to allow that it works.

I just expected more, fairly or unfairly, with what there was to work with.

You're not alone.

It was watchable. Not really memorable in any way. Everything was just..fine.

I did like Harry Melling's performance quite a bit.

I did too.

I thought all of the acting was well done actually. The movie had all the right pieces and kept me entertained enough, just never elevated past being decent for me.
