I think an effective nuanced performance is exactly what's lacking from him. Some actors are able to give you a peek into their character's soul with the slightest of facial expressions, but he's not one of them. So I wasn't implying that you needed a MM type chewing on the scenery in order to be compelling. You can contrast Scott with Turturro's performance, or "Ms Casey" might be even a better example, as her performance is nuanced and incredibly magnetic in her limited scenes. You need to be able to suck the viewer in, but there's no need to be Tony Soprano to pull that off. After a season (ideally, a first episode) I should definitely care most about Scott's character's context, but I don't -- and that points me to the portrayal. Just an opinion. The Father The Power of the Dog Tar Summer of Soul I'm way behind on '24 and I haven't seen any from '25. https://moviechat.org/general/General-Discussion/6770544833c1ef291c7a085e/Most-anticipated-movies-2025?reply=6771c2245a91fe3e379f0fd4 Amadeus.
