checked this out. Pretty good, interesting -- but the hallmark of peak tv shows is to have a really compelling lead actor and performance, and Scott doesn't quite pull that off for me as yet. Westworld had the same problem. You need someone who grabs you so much that you're dying to take the ride with that character to the end.

Disagree about Scott. You can't have a too charismatic actor in his role it would take away from the show

They are office drones and his character is typical gutless dorky jobsworth but the outie version is severely depressed and him being quite meek to begin with and then become more daring as the show goes on is far better than a Mathew McConoughey firing everyone up wouldn't fit the tone of the show.

It's a nuanced performance i think he's great in it exactly what the character requires

I think an effective nuanced performance is exactly what's lacking from him. Some actors are able to give you a peek into their character's soul with the slightest of facial expressions, but he's not one of them. So I wasn't implying that you needed a MM type chewing on the scenery in order to be compelling. You can contrast Scott with Turturro's performance, or "Ms Casey" might be even a better example, as her performance is nuanced and incredibly magnetic in her limited scenes.

You need to be able to suck the viewer in, but there's no need to be Tony Soprano to pull that off. After a season (ideally, a first episode) I should definitely care most about Scott's character's context, but I don't -- and that points me to the portrayal. Just an opinion.
