Because at least the JP movies feature humans recklessly invadid the animals territory or purposely hurting them, in which case you could be in danger.
In The Lost World you see a mother looking for her son which is a more realistic scenario.
Dinosaurs are just beasts, they wouldn't venture into cities. Even if you were in the wild they would see you first and avoid you because they are not familiar with humans.
Ecologically it would be a disaster though.
She has a transformation in the first movie, like Sarah Connor.

Not necessarily weirder but This Is The End, From Dusk Till Dawn and that movie where a woman is obsessed with the rapture and then the rapture actually happens at the end.

The fact that The Shawshank Redemption is #1 is way more of a scandal. Great movie but not even close to the top ten (and certainly not better than The Godfather).

I did enjoy the book but I think Spielberg or whomever worked on the script did a lot for the movie. There's some iconic scenes that are not in the book and the plot of the raptors boarding the boat in the book is rather silly.
