Hehe. Totally tasteless! She played a hooker on Fantasy Island I think and also did Love Boat. Weird how her career just fizzled. Bad agent, maybe.
I always thought it was Man too. It was decades later that I also found out that it was an actual song. Not just some drunken ditty by a bear-ish backwoods man!
Bukkake on who? Ma? LOL!!!! I'd pay good money to see that! Too funny. I always thought if I made a porn flick it would have a LHOP motif, called Little Whores on the Prairie about a young woman's entry into adulthood, and men. Lots of them. And chicks too. Still in those godawful pigtails. Ma doing bukkake would totally play against type, but she seemed to have a thing for those bully boys. Even dropped her eggs for them! Throw in a DP, or even a TP with the son. Even give Kezia a scene, I'm thinking anal. And JohnJr absolutely should have a power-bang with all the townsmen. Haha.
I totally agree. ANY other way that could be plausible would have been better than Mary just up and leaving her baby to be burned to death. I think Landon was sadistically cruel in real life. Hersha/Alice was leaving the show because she made some demands so I could see Landon wanting to burn her character alive. Was this MSA/Mary's final season too? She was starting to make motion pictures and changing her image as a young, sexy, nymph so maybe this was Landon's way of getting back at her, too. That's a question I'd love MSA to answer.
Beautiful? Umm, Mary hands down. She was hired to be the beautiful sister contrast to Laura's utter homeliness. Even as an adult Laura never achieved any sort of beauty. Her buck teeth were fixed by 1880s orthodontistry standards.
And seriously have you seen her recently versus MSA? Melissa Gilbert ruined her face with plastic surgery. She's unrecognizable. And MSA? She's still gorgeous. So Mary was always prettier and always will be.
Albert, you had your chance with her way back when you shared the attic with her!! I just can't imagine her as being "bang-able". Even today. And now with all her plastic surgery... she doesn't even look right anymore. Natural beauty goes a LONG way. So, it's
Mary. Hands down. Beautiful child, beautiful young lady, beautiful woman, and gorgeous approaching 60. Laura? Uggh. Maybe she'll get some fillers in her face and another boob job, and possibly an ass job to compete with the Kartrashians... that's Laura's style. Mary is au naturale. And if she isn't, then she did it correctly, probably outside of L.A. I still love Mary, even though she said I looked like a scarecrow!
(The most bang-able to me was Nellie. Ran off and eloped at 15/16 just for the hell of it, didn't care about anyone's feelings and just lived in her moment. That's a good hook-up.)
Yes, I am sure that she was quite a handsome woman when she was young.
I kind of see your point, however, I have no problem with Grassle telling all. She was a powerless actress with no clout and she couldn't have gone up against Micheal Landon back then. Then when he died, she'd look bitter if she immediately came out with her grievances. I think it's appropriate that in her memoirs she is recounting her experiences as an actress fighting gender discrimination. And she didn't reveal anything shocking that hasn't been covered by other actresses on set with Landon.
Brava, Karen. Loved the book.
Caroline was the original Mechelle Duggar wannabe!!! Gotta keep pushing out the babies. Even the very tactful Harriett once had to say something at baby #4's christening and called Caroline a 'broodmare' to her face!!! And that was even with the baby before her last one, Grace, who was born nine months after Uncle Chris, nicknamed by Caro herself as "The Handyman" stayed with the family on Plum Creek while Charles was away for months. Charles was never very good at math... lol
Instead of baking them brown, I think it would have been better if Alice had just kidnapped and run off with AdamJr. She became fearful of her reputation when she found out her first husband she never told anyone about and their daughter Sylvia were thinking about moving to WG. She simply wigged out. At least with this version we'd know that Alice was taking good care of AdamJr and everyone actually LIVES, happily ever after.
Irv Hartwig and Albert were in cahoots. Albert told him where he could find Sylvia in an abandoned building. And then when she was climbing the ladder to nowhere he made her fall and she died.
Don't forget how Albert gave the undertaker Hiram Baker plenty of business!
I think Nels very well could have been gay. He and Harriet are at least ten years older than the Ingallses, so they got a late start. Harriet wasn't getting any younger or prettier, and Nels could only say he hasn't found the right woman yet for so long. I liked their chemistry, very much like a gay man and drama queen wife.
In reality, it was obvious they paid off their Mercantile debt by having Caroline on the Barrel in the back storeroom with Nels!.
Her hair looked lovely when she wore it down for Chris the Handyman! Maybe Charles didn't inspire her to look better?
