let's do a poll: who was more beautiful laura or mary?

Okay let's add Nellie to the mix. I will update my answer:

At that age (when I was their age), then whichever one of them would make out with me, so long as it wasn't Nellie. :)

In appearance only, I'd have to go with Mary. But if we're talking personality and looks, then Laura hands down.

In terms of Beauty Mary. In terms of being a wife and working besides her husband then Laura. That's assuming that Mary never lost her eyesight so not to be disadvantaged physically.

Beautiful? Umm, Mary hands down. She was hired to be the beautiful sister contrast to Laura's utter homeliness. Even as an adult Laura never achieved any sort of beauty. Her buck teeth were fixed by 1880s orthodontistry standards.

And seriously have you seen her recently versus MSA? Melissa Gilbert ruined her face with plastic surgery. She's unrecognizable. And MSA? She's still gorgeous. So Mary was always prettier and always will be.
