The picture to see him in for action and comedy is "Hatari." This film has gone out of favor but it looked very realistic and it didn't look like they were using body doubles. But they HAD TOO. Right?
Kruger was excellent and added a lot to an internationaL cast in Duke Wayne's crew.
Decent entertainment but do I like most of this stuff including the mullet, no.
lBill did an "I love lucy" with Duke Wayne. Surprisingly he also did two films.
Desi was about the only person who could get along with BF. He hired him and treated Frawley very well. But supposedly Desi thought the Fred character was just as popular out in TV = land as any of the other three. Viewers loved him and Arnez admired his popularity.
Taylor should not have done the scene that way. It made him look very weak. If character had lost his temper --which he did-- there is at least that. But that was more a crack so hard it could have caused a concussion.
This film was remarkable on a number levels. Made while the war was still very much in doubt the goal seemed to be to show US solders fighting at their absolute fiercest intensity.

I've never seen anything after the original. Every time I see "LW" it gets weaker in my estimation but obviously it's the same film. Too much is a bad thing: but I understand--$$$-- the biz. I now think "LW" was flashy but ultimately silly entertainment.
