I'm afraid I slightly disagree: pollution is a problem. It's just not one of the most important or urgent problems right now. If it was, <i>people would be worried about it no matter which country caused it</i>. However, most of pollution happens in Asia... but you don't see Saint Greta preaching the gospel there.
At the end of the day, it's just another excuse to blame white men. <i>That doesn't mean that the problems doesn't exist</i>, but nobody really cares about it right now, it has become a tool (another tool) to blame whites.

That actually supports my point. Religious movies use to focus in a limited set of problems or behaviors that have an special religious significance.
For some reason, Climate Change has become a woke crusade. You only have to check the page of that modern woke child-Saint called Greta Thurnberg. And what was Orphan 55 about? Pollution and climate change.

There's no show or movie completely free of this. What the writer/director/actors thinks is gonna leak someway. It was obvious Doctor Who was written by British liberals, the same way Roddenberry's Star Trek was written by US liberals. The same it's obvious that the Ender saga was written by a Christian conservative. And however, you can read/watch them and enjoy it even if you don't agree with the political/religious points of view of the people who wrote it.
The question is... what's the problem with wokeness? Why does it need to make the shows and movies so preachy?.
Honestly, I don't know.
Maybe, since the main element (not the only one, but the main one) of Wokeness seems to be blaming whites for everything under the sun and defining them as the source of evil, it's just difficult to make a woke show that doesn't feel preachy.
It sounds more like the Beatles than Paul or Lennon's solo songs.

That's a good questions. Taking the usual ethnic groups in diverse policies, you could have all those mixed couples:
Asian/Black
Asian/Indian
Indian/Black
Hispanic/Asian
Hispanic/Indian
Hispanic/Black
However, you barely see any of them. It's like diversity only applies to whites.
That's a extremely good team talk, one of the best you could find... but it's a call to feelings, it doesn't solve problems.
Check South Africa. They had Mandela, who was an extremely smart guy and a great politician, as good as MLK. That couldn't change that right now, the country has become a shithole. The country lacks regular water and power supply... to the point that the lack of regular power supply has become so frequent that factories are closing because of it:

Probably South Africa is gonna be the first country in history that will go from providing water and power supply to their citizens to losing that ability. It's a milestone for humanity, when you think about it, and not a good one.
Now you have the whites there that have seen what happened with a country that could provide basic services without problems and now has become another standard African shithole. And you have blacks that see that their living standard is going down, even lower than the one they had during the Apartheid (and I'm not joking), and of course, they're blaming whites, because whites have become the universal scapegoat.
Team talks are nice... until the shit hits the fan.

Actually, it has happened before several times. Rome in the 2nd/3rd century was very similar to modern US. The Caribbean under the Spanish rule. Brazil under the Portuguese rule. Or Middle East several centuries ago.
In general, the development has been always been the same: it ends up becoming a shithole.

Group cohesion won't happen magically. It needs a common ground, cultural or genetic. Indeed, <b>Wokeness wanted to be that common inter-cultural background</b>. The idea behind Wokeness was that if whites gave up as much as possible, then there would be no envy or resentment and an inter-racial cohesive group would appear. That's why it's so strongly enforced by media.
The problem is that it doesn't work that way.
When a group gives up as much as possible, the other groups start to think that this group must be either terribly evil to be punished that way or terribly stupid to give up so much for free. Any case, they will think <i>worse</i> of them. During the 60s/70s US was the role model, the country that every other country wanted to become. Nowadays, it's the country NOBODY wants to become. Hate and contempt between ethnic groups is becoming more and more prevalent, and it's only growing.
US (and Europe) are patching the lack of cohesion with money... and debt. Eventually, money will run dry. That day, well...
The article completely misses the point.
The complains about Doctor Who are not the usual ones about the quality of the show. They're mostly about the constant political/pseudo-religious preaching.
The same the complains about modern Star Wars are completely different from the ones about the prequels. The prequels were flawed in many ways, but nobody felt Lucas was trying to use them to proselytize or to sell some political or pseudo-religious message. The prequels just weren't really good, but that was all.

As I've said before, 'white supremacist' is the new 'Satan worshipper' in the woke faith, and here there's even a straigthforward reference to demonic worshipping.
It's interesting how wokes see white supremacists everywhere, the same Christians used to see Satan worshippers everywhere. It's the same pattern, with a new religion.

I think than more than his nationality, it's his ethnic group. At the end of the day, wokeness is a self-hate movement. And from a British woke point of view, the problem with Yanks is not that their different because they're American. It's the opposite: <i>they're too close</i>. Doctor Who has been a show traditionally written by British white dudes. This last season, on the contrary, there's only two British white dudes besides Chibnaill doing the writing. The rest are either female or non-whites.
And that doesn't fit the demographics of the genre. Scifi is a genre that it's generally populated by white dudes. Just check youtube or fanfiction or fan movies: it's all white dudes with very few exceptions (there's a very good youtube channel that started analyzing Game Of Thrones and now has gone general fantasy and scifi, and the youtuber is a black dude, for example. But those cases are rare). However, here you have that they're almost out of modern Doctor Who.
I think the problem with Joe Hill is not really being American, but being too similar to British white dudes. They're trying to get rid of those, not to open the job to similar ones.
"white supremacist" was a doctrine that argued that whites should rule over other races in Earth. With very few exception (there's exceptions for everything), nobody argues such a thing nowadays. The word has become an insult, like 'fascist' or 'nazi'.

Farrakhan was black. This is a Netflix production. Netflix mission is to promote white guilt and to blame whites for everything under the sun. How the hell do you want them to promote white guilt reporting how the most likely instigator was another black guy?
