Me either, buddy. Some people are just that bored, I guess. From what hes said on other threads I believe his issue is that shes asian, and only there as a gimmick for the asian market. I havent seen him say anything other than asian issues. I wont say hes bigot, cause you know what happens then, but he does seem overly concerned by the fact shes asian.

As for rey as a character, no she isnt the best. And youve pointed out the reasons why without using the term "pussy pass" or something equally derogatory. Theres far to much insistence that this badly written character is a bad because its a woman. You were able to point out why shes a bad character without once mentioning that shes a woman. And thats the difference. I think your right in everything that you say, I dont beleive that she is a very well written character but it has nothing to do with gender or the actress, and everything to do with the writing. Its like says 80s arnold movies were bad because his arms were too big.
What follows after that is conspiracy that rey was written that way because "girl power" or whatever its called these days. Kathleen kennedy is being called all sorts for pushing women in lead roles like its a problem. Write them well and who cares.
Oh and I could not agree with you more about lousie fletcher. I love to hate that woman. She really plays evil so well. She is without doubt one of the greatest understated villains Ive ever seen. I saw cuckoo when I was about 12 or so and I absolutely hated her. Which in my mind is the greatest compliment I could give to her performance.
Women do need to be seen as more than just sex symbols. Seems very hard to be able to get a female action star that isnt showing off skin. Ripley, conner, both james cameron creations are what should have been the template going forward, but instead we got 20 years of women killing men between their thighs.
So for alls reys faults as a character, Im just glad that she hasnt been over sexualised as most female leads find themselves.

They are now, not last week. And it’s not my theory, it’s what’s been reported. I don’t live in the land of watched 24/7, so I have no idea what your school terms are, but what I read was what I said.
It was not a map to Luke skywalker, it was a map to the temple. Luke didn’t break up the map or any of that other nonsense. The guy doesn’t even mention the temple, just that it’s a map to Luke and then a series of questions not to ask. And it’s not a random temple, it’s a VERY specific temple. A lost temple that Luke went looking for, he didn’t leave a map for people to follow him as is implied by the narrator.
I’ll tell you would make it good, not over hyping it for 2 years. And by that I mean all the geek websites bombarding the fans with horse shit to get clicks 24/7(I’m looking at you nerdist). It’s been so build up with theories on this that the other it was never going to make everyone happy.
I love how you forgot to mention that schools and colleges are still in session which accounts for the slightly below box office. It’s not like it’s the massive failure justice league is.
I’ve only seen two 3D movies that actually looked good. Avatar and drive angry. The rest sucked.
After 4 and half minutes it was clear this guy didn’t pay as much attention as he claimed. The map to Luke skywalker wasn’t a map to Luke skywalker. It was a map to the lost Jedi temple that look went looking for. No way in hell am I watching a hour of that if it starts off incorrect.
I’ve found that unless a movie has been shot in 3D, I’m wearing glasses to see a normal picture. Marvel movies, Star Wars etc etc all just look flat. Maybe a hint of depth here and there, but nothing special. The only thing I remember about tfas eD was the shot of the star destroyer kinda pooping out the screen a bit and then it was back to flat with a hint of depth.
As such, I don’t bother with 3D at all anymore. It’s pointless, unless it’s shot with 3D cameras. Conversions blow.
A shit one. It really is awful. Its like a movie made in the 80s with its plot points, but not a good one.
