An hour-long deconstruction of Force Awakens

It's on the level of Redlettermedia's unpacking of the prequels, although not as funny. This guy pointed out how awful the movie was in ways I hadn't realized before such as Finn and Kylo's actions not making any sense or having consistency from one scene to the next.

After 4 and half minutes it was clear this guy didn’t pay as much attention as he claimed. The map to Luke skywalker wasn’t a map to Luke skywalker. It was a map to the lost Jedi temple that look went looking for. No way in hell am I watching a hour of that if it starts off incorrect.

reply

Um, Luke was at the temple, so the map was indeed a map to him. The old guy didn't want Poe to go to a random Jedi temple, he wanted Poe to get Luke.

reply

It was not a map to Luke skywalker, it was a map to the temple. Luke didn’t break up the map or any of that other nonsense. The guy doesn’t even mention the temple, just that it’s a map to Luke and then a series of questions not to ask. And it’s not a random temple, it’s a VERY specific temple. A lost temple that Luke went looking for, he didn’t leave a map for people to follow him as is implied by the narrator.

You're right and ChuckFindlay is wrong.

reply

Yup. Whenever the map was talked about, it was ALWAYS in the context of finding Luke. That was the entire point of that subplot. Saying "It wasn't a map to Luke, it was a map to a temple" is like saying "Han Solo didn't make the Kessel Run, the Millennium Falcon did".

reply

No need to explain. I get you. I've seen the movie enough times.

reply

I know, but it's just funny how defensive Chucky is.

reply

Lol!
