I know right, and Becky didn't use to be so stupid.. I hate what they have done with her character.. You may have a point.. when that greed took over, he really changed.. When baking Blueberry bread, use Lemon zest, it brings it all together.. that's true I forgot about that.. funny, I always felt the same, that she would end up a single mother living in Greenwich Village or someplace as an artist, not marrying a guy like Phillip.. In some ways the reunion shows missed the mark... I remember when I watched this show as a kid, I wondered why he never decided to have Shirley be his permanent girlfriend.. didn't think he was a player like Fonz was in happy days.. I liked the dress, the fluffiness of it suited her romantic sensibilities.. makes u wonder why she didn't leave with him when she had the chance I see.. Thank you. I just read on Wikipedia that the time on this film is the 90s, but some of the clothes and the furnishings look like an earlier time... interesting mix... Much like handmaids in the Handmaids tale.. they aren't even allowed to use their real names. Well, Jan was beautiful and Marcia was still.. in Barry Williams book, he said Sherwood had planned to either make Carol a widow or Mike would have left on a business trip, never to return.. It would have been funny if Iola's career had been that of a home ec teacher, that would have suited her.. would have been some funny to see her in a classroom in her pink gingham dress (she even wore that as a kid in one episode!!) teaching her handicrafts.. LOL He does have a southern accent.. it just isn't super pronounced.. sometimes southern accents are exaggerated on tv.. I am from the South so I can hear it in his voice.. I feel the same.. she had ambitions at one point to be a paramedic or a physical therapist.. She is doing well, but Becky's life is sad right now.. I hope things turn around.. I miss the younger Becky. she may have been mouthy and a brat at times, but she was smart, a straight A student and had ambitions.. and a hard worker.. 3 episodes in,it looks like a few small changes were made with the staircase and the kitchen from what I could see.. About the grandmother with the furniture from 1960s and before, back then they made stuff to last a long time so that doesn't surprise me.. Dishes from the 1960s through the 80s are popular on the vintage market.. I still have my moms blue flower corningware dishes.. those dishes are tough, many out live their owners, don't break very easily.. As far as couches go, my parents did change those through the years, so it is surprising that the couch is the same.. most people eventually change couches and armchairs.. Hi Larry I pretty much agree with your assessment except for the character of Becky.. Yes, when Becky was a kid, she could be shallow and self-absorbed but she was also intelligent and had ambitions, remember when she was in school she was making straight A's and had to help out at home when Dan and Roseanne were working extra hours.. Now, she is a widow, working but barely getting by and facing the realities of no spouse and getting older.. Dark stuff.. It would have been nice if by now she had fulfilled one of her ambitions, physical therapist, paramedic or something in the medical field like she once told Mark about, but I guess they decided to ignore that in this version.. It will be interesting to see how the show plays out with all the characters.. I know.. my husband was ticked off at the character.. he hates guys like that.. guy was trying to be a "take charge" but was just an invasive creep... Yeah I noticed that, though they did not show her up close..
