TheMan18's Replies

Not quite but I did participate in a few video calls on Skype and Facebook video chat. In SOME if not ALL aspects of life these days, I actually at times at least FEEL like I do, how about you? Are you referring to the human race in general? Well, as for the "unpleasant" side of things, I've seen movies like Salo, A Serbian Film, various body horror from David Cronenberg, films by David Lynch, Gummo, Freddie Got Fingered, Nekromantik and some of other Jorg Buttgereit films, various anthology horror like The ABCs of Death and The Profane Exhibit, Cannibal Holocaust, Aftermath, Gaspar Noe's films, films of Takashi Miike including Ichi the Killer and Visitor Q, Paul Verhoeven's films etc. So I like to think I have a fairly strong stomach in that regard. But still, would definitely try and see it. For me also around an 8. Hahahahahahahahaha, lol, samo :) :) :) :) :) Even though I've been on it nearly all my LIFE, lol, but I try to be on the calmer side of things. ) Has anyone seen that one, 1990's "Twilight"? Its now on YouTube and by the way, yes, I did finally see it. My oh my. Yep, it IS pretty controversial, release it onto a public there will be a mass outrage. And yes it does what you think it does, and you may still ask if the guy went a little too far with this? I have to say, moving briefly aside its controversial nature, I wasn't all impressed with it, I guess around a 4/10 is what I probably will give it. It even manages to be somewhat derivative by openly borrowing at least two musical pieces from Lynch's "Lost Highway" (1997) and it being shot thoroughly through still photographs does make it a bit on the tedious side. It does have a bit of style that is almost giallo-esque but other than that, not much more to it. If you're thinking of watching this and you feel you're up to it, give it a go, but don't expect too much, besides the controversial nature of subject matter as such alone. By the way, even IF we COULD judge a matter like this on its own even without broaching real life sadly high frequency statistics in such matter with situation err 'reversed', could we still come up with a satisfying conclusion and also think the guy and the movie went a bit over the top? I won't spell out if I think its "right", it can indeed be open to interpretations. Or the movie can just be watched and appreciated as a slice of slightly less than usual, controversial, underground little short film shocker - although in my view, not among the very best at all examples of such category. Oh well. P.S. Fingers crossed of course, don't worry folks, I won't be acting like this guy at all ever in my life. But still, movie wise... P.S.S. You can also even add it to a list of underground, fairly obscure or just disturbing HORROR movies to watch. Maybe in Nil By Mouth it was borrowed from that comedian or vice versa. You're welcome but I am not so much officially "depressed" as a bit naive, into wishful thinking and generally a bit sensitive. Haha, you took that joke about getting yor wife back, your house back, playing a record backwards, from a scene in "Nil by Mouth" (1997) movie, right? I've been on PLENTY of MOVIE related boards here and in fact over 70% of my threads and topics here are very much CINEMA related. Been occasionally at a Political board too but don't have much new to say there. Not sure what is a "GD taboo word" mate. :) Anyone else feel this way and share my mentality here? Pretty disturbing if you think about it. Its like - its not just, like in his two later Funny Games movies, the 1997 Austrian and the 2007 Hollywood remake, outside "villains" coming into the family to torture and possibly kill them like that. including AUDIENCES reactions (i.e. OK you may have such rights, but is it really correct to be angry and dismissive HERE?) and talk about related stuff (heck, that character from one movie was a killer and still a villain, but I don't hear people on every corner complain that they got away with it and movie as a result wasn't dismissed as offensive rubbish etc) and sometimes just engage or indulge in some however medium form of freedom to discuss movies etc, but hopefully not to offend anyone on any real level officially. Longer time ago I may have even sadly been OFFICIALLY wrong but even THEN I just didn't know better and often messed around or felt compelled to gel what some might say or have said with my own angry mindset that I even felt compelled to turn into real life black comedy - albeit, even though I did end up out of order, but THOSE MOMENTS are FAR behind me and whatnot. But that's alright as well and perfectly understandable too. We are all fallible and imperfect mortals in this world and on this Earth - I am also one. ALSO, haha, NOTE, to anyone who thinks I am TOO judgmental, demanding, let alone, stuff like terrible, an asshole or whatever... I've had VARIOUS moments in life AND online, but also paradoxically moments of unevenness, where I may have for example praised loads of people for good and helpful responses, fell out with those who were actively not on my side (AND NOT always for "right" reasons, I was never ALWAYS bad etc) but also I was either neutral with good people (i.e. haha, I've asked for the information on the message of the song rather than merely its lyrics, although I had nothing AGAINST anyone posting lyrics alone, I was acting like a drooling automaton with a teacher like mentality) or sometimes got, and I REALLY DO APOLOGIZE, carried away in some or other cases with some good and other neutral folks (i.e. NO OFFENSE, I mean, I just wasn't their perfect friend, we were strangers etc, but NOT enemies of any kind EITHER) who occasionally and at the inappropriate moment went into directions I REALLY DID NOT feel like going into at the time, so I asked or, SORRY IF I, ended up DEMANDING, folks, ALRIGHT, LET'S NOT GO THERE etc PLEASE, and if people carried on, I apologize OF COURSE, but I DID lose it a little bit, and when I started to WORRY about how others might see me, well, apologies for becoming IN THE PROCESS a little on the fierce side, but no offense of course to any of you and others EITHER. Not to mention, I, as I said before, was often affected by FORM as well as content, often for DIFFERENT reasons, and often based on, far from perfectly prepared mindset, how I WAS affected by them. And I sometimes felt compelled to mention some things or "talk about them" to get them off my chest but also to find a satisfying narrative and a calming and effective point, including for stuff like watching films with certain subject matter and even if I STILL agree and RIGHTLY so its "wrong", I still felt compelled in the eyes of such matters discussing OTHER stuff, Cool I may answer this if I may... Just be myself and not worry, accept it and if necessary or no other choice, move on. No one really "owes" me ANYTHING including explanations of a perfectly clear and ultra polite variety, reality often is what it is, many people are perfectly aware of things but don't feel any need to perfectly explain it all and calm some of us (like me) down in a perfectly friendly way even in say disturbing but occasionally complex areas - but we assume people might think wrongly due to mere "stupidity" but its not always as simple as that, even though sadly yes there are plenty of direct examples of textbook de-facto ignorance in our humanity. If they refuse or even get mad - let them, don't try and force yourself to convince them of anything. Be yourself and be sincere and honest, that's pretty much all and it. Was that alright? Cool, on the American Independence Day. :) Are they, festive sparklers, safe? And that's not even touching the fact that around even that time, Mr Grachev has become quite unpopular in Russia following his disastrous lead of the war in Chechnya and, well, I can somewhat understand a man of his position and stance taking legal action against newspaper material he found disrespectful. From what I heard that Poegli journalist was given either a full or reduced one year corrective labour and he had to do a year of community service. Good movie, 7/10 from me, although not Carpenter's greatest work. It almost felt albeit AMBIGUOUSLY that towards the end, the movie was saying, even if of course it didn't mean to emphasize with him EITHER - "Hitler was a human being too".
