What’s funny as I took this line as, the black communities can’t get get out of their own way because of their state of mind.
She was very cruel to chance and said mean things, then when she saw him on TV there was jealousy and instead of her being a state of mind to get out of the dilemma, she blames everything else and believes she will never escape because of the White man. Her peers clearly kind of were looking at her like she was crazy. Plus they clearly showed the black neighborhood of them threatening Chance and their behavior. They will be always that way because they chose not to change their state of mind.
This isn’t woke but it’s one of the most intelligent things I have seen on film explaining your problems exist because of yourself and no one else.
Very anti woke. If you ask me and perfect
This. I liked the first hour. Then all of a sudden I was so incredibly bored. The city and the weirdo family were the most interesting part.
Well basically he is drowning in self guilt.
That’s the description of the film in a nut shell.
This film is terrible. I am not sure how you made it through a second time hahahaha
It’s not that rare
If someone has kids in teens to 30 you can still have kids… into your mid 40’s
Mormon families have a lot of siblings with huge age gaps..
I have a growing up friend that’s not Mormon but her parents wanted a big family. She was 17 when her mom had her little sister. 8 kids in total..
Then I also was born and raised in Midwest where it’s not uncommon or used to not be in the 70’s and before , 80’s, 90’s for people to have children at a young age and be married by 20 years old.. have a kid then have another one at 35.
This is small town Alaska.. so I’m sure this is the case too.. had him and then years later had his brother…
And how do we know it’s not his half brother? Could be the case too. Or adopted..
Haha I think it’s a a hockey player name?? Hahahaha
I like your wife! Ha!
More women need to realize this and instead of jumping on the train.
As a woman and just finishing this movie..
I have to agree with this statement.
Maybe they come from a place where they didn’t have an issue with bacteria and wasn’t planned for. Just because something is coming on earth, doesn’t mean it’s common on other planets. It came completely unexpected to them.
Also, the dumbest alien award go to the ones in Signs. Coming to a planet that is nothing but water and Holman body is largely water yet they are allergic to waters. That’s like someone allergic to peanuts going to but a factory during an all you can eat free sample day open to public. Also, bacteria stupid aliens would be humans in Alien Covenant. Tech humans were alien in the Engineer planet and they just ripped their helmets right off. Humans are aware of bacterial and viral issues 😂
TCM isn’t about Leatherface it’s about the family. It’s not just one killer. I enjoy TCM 2022 a lot but he is really nothing with the solid family that helps him survive. That’s why you hear people say TCM is their favorite horror movie or one of their favorite slashers but not character. TCM had the best murderous family but there aren't many of those
I always think he did. Either he looped back around and got in his truck or he just kept running. He was running fast. Leatherface by then had a leg injury and he was super focused on sally. I don’t think he even noticed the truck driver outside he was in his way to getting to Sally.
The Oldman tries really hard to get them to stay for BBQ and always wondered if he would have killed them at the station. Also, it’s a gas station with NO gas so the family is obviously preying on out of our gas out of towners. The cars they were hiding was a decent amount alone.
I think there is a few ways this could have played.
Pickup hitchhiker they do take him home as he asked. He and Leatherface kill the group.
Pickup hitchhiker, plays out on film as he does till they get to gas station… similar scenario with the Oldman sees hitchhikers marking on van. It’s a shape so I think the van was truly marked to tell him. He is telling them not to go, not poking on other people’s property etc.. it was too much of a risk in case they got away with the working van. As others said. I think the Oldman was going to kill them at the gas station and there was the other employee who I’m convinced is also family. Due his job and the Oldman is unhinged so only really family can work with him. He kept trying to get them stay for BBQ “ makes me wonder if he druffed or poisoned it.
Okay same scenario as before. Except the don’t stay for BBQ but the continue to drive toward San Diego. The next gas station is really far away so they don’t have enough gas but try anyway, they run out of gas and maybe the redhead(who could have headed that way to be sure) but out of gas they get killed by the family: either walking back toward the gas station, waiting for someone etc…
We now also have a scenario of how it plays out on film except…instead of going swimming they all stay at grandpa’s house and don’t leave. Obviously the family is frequenting there and started to decorate so they would have been killed probably at night at grandpas old house.
Final scenario is how it plays out in film..
I really think that no matter what they are screwed. The oldman is a lunatic. One second saying one thing but encouraging doing another like killing. All roads led them to dying:
The big issue with the Get me a Coke. It’s not that he didn’t he ask politely and demanded it. It’s actually because he was so nice and full of pleases and thank yours. He put on the nicest polite show. The dream guy your parents hoped you bring home, then the “Get me a coke” is out of character for everything else he just displayed and the dad caught it. It was the tone and demand after he was nothing but please, thank you, can I help you, etc… it was completely out of left field. Someone that says please and thank you and is polite as he was displaying would never order and would say please and ask.
I have a similar but different interpretation.
1. Noi rejected Ba Yan and changed her faith kicking off the chain reaction.
2. Nim had gone off to dressmaker school(I think that’s what they said) when Noi rejected Ba Yan, Nim faked being a Shaman this whole time. She wanted to be the one.
3. Noi married into the cursed family that Ba Yan despised. Got pregnant and had Ming.
4. Ming had a relationship that shouldn’t have occurred with (don’t remember the name) but the family member. Adding another layer.
5. Mink started to let them in since she wanted to connect with her love them knew bad things started to happen. Which escalated and I do believe Ba Yan was the main one to start but Nim interfered because she wanted to be the still be the chosen one as Noi suspects. Which Nim was faking and they would see the truth.
6. Noi was in Denial and Nim was faking her gift adding more problems.
7. Noi then added more issues due to that ceremony while Nim caused worse issues by interrupting it causing a full scale legion type possession.
8. Then the chaos starts while preparing and her and that other Shaman was preparing, he found out she was faking it.
9. Nim kills herself because she knows that she can’t help and her lies would be told. This is why he doesn’t say anything at the funeral when asked.
10. Ba Yan was being exercised out with the rest of the spirits so of course it’s full scale war.
There is more stuff. But it is ultimately Ba Yans revenge against the left of the line that become so badly tainted she had to rid the of them and everyone connected. It makes me wonder if Mink is going to revert back and be the new shaman or will she kill her? Also her alter is destroyed.
There is so much in this movie that doesn’t seem like a lot until those credits role. Lots of spelling out what’s really going on. Lots of forshadowing.
Excellent film.
As long as they let Kyle Gallner we run with it. He is such an incredible Underrated actor. He was excellent in Dinner in America and Cleansing Hour, his 2 sec cameo in Scream 2022, and pretty much the only reason to watch the NOES remake. I would love for him to be the main in next one and they set that up.
Her acting is cringeworthy. The whole cast in this movie are a+ including the little kids marching in the parade and her she comes, ruining everything when she is on screen. He motions and her speaking acting voice are like of that of a monotone cow. Her dad is one of the greatest directors of all time and he couldn’t direct his daughter to anything right in this film. It’s awful. There are so many actresses in Hollywood that are unknown or semi known that would have done leagues above her. It wasn’t that hard of a casting job for replacement. She literally ruined key moments in the film and had zero chemistry with Anthony Garcia who could have chemistry with a rabid swear rat. You could feel it from his side but her side was a white plaster board wall. It’s bad… I do feel bad for her and the criticism but she should have never agreed to be in a film that is a sequel to 2 greatest movies of all time with some of the greatest cast of all time when she had zero acting experience. She was stupid for doing this and so was her dad.
It’s called Death Wish III 😂
1 by a million miles. It was dark, mean spirted, made you feel like
You needed a shower, it was mysterious, and lots of Art antics.
I super hated the main chick in this one. She was super annoying and I couldn’t wait for her nose ring to get ripped out. Which they just kind of disappeared by end of film. The story line was really idiotic copy and paste of the dad having visions and being prophetic blah blah blah was super disappointing. I couldn’t wait for the sister to die and was happy when she was in the water tank but then they did it even more harm bt having her come back to life. Art shined and was fun but the ending sucked and should have had more Art chasing her down and stalking her the brother for a runtime of the entire film. Not dreams of him or think you saw him etc..
Like complete creepy like he was in the 1st one. Instead we had Whiney teenagers with long scenes and mom constantly yelling. It took the wind out of anything it had going for it. I really hope they off the sister in the first 2 min of the 3rd film in some horrible way. Art had so many mean moments in 1 and charming…. I did like the little girl That was with Art.
I can see why some people don’t like the 1st one but love this one. In the first one there is no hope and the atmosphere and seclusion is amazing. Art was no holds barred and is a complete dick. This one has 0 atmosphere outside the beginning and the end credits. And a few quick moments in the runtime. Art just feels inserted like a side character where as the first one he was the character. 1 felt like a Halloween movie and this one feels like insert any slasher anytime of year film.
What I want in the 3rd super Halloween feeling that’s very vile and dirty a next level to the first one with some good twists.
I didn’t go through all 96 comments so someone may have already brought this up. John explained perfectly on how he was reacting through the movie early on in the film. He quite clear on how stated how in shock he was when his wife and daughter died. He didn’t feel anything and then it hit him. He was intelligent and I think he was under stress and shock when it all started to happen. He remained calm and it wasn’t until he heard the seance tape it hit him. After that all his emotion shifted to just figuring it out to full on sprint to help Joseph. It wasn’t out of character for him and so there for fit perfectly in the movie. George C Scott was perfectly cast. This movie wouldn’t work without his performance. It would just be the same old same old freak out session and emotional all about the main character. In reality, this movie is about Joseph and Sen Carmichael. You only feel sad for John at the beginning and then it’s Joseph and how he becomes the lead in this film. He is the true main character. You feel like your with John. You leave this movie thinking about Joseph, you leave this movie either feeling sad for Sen Carmichael or angry at the Carmichael dad and Sen Carmichael. If George C Scott took a different approach the. The entire shift of the movie would have changed to be about John and you wouldn’t feel the emotional and tragic story of the Carmichaels. There are not many movies where the actually main character is someone who is barely on screen. It’s not easy to pull off that off and this movie nails it.
I think some of it’s that but he also tried to stop John from finding the truth like how Joseph kills the cop. Then when John finally confronts Sen Carmichael toward the end, the senator is in denial, defends his murder father, and is completely outraged. I think Joseph took offense to this. Which is also why Joseph showed him the house. In the end Sen Carmichael doomed himself. It could have ended differently if he showed grief and believed John.
Agreed. It was a okay little film with decent acting and of course great acting by Lin Shaye. Melissa Bolona is a terrible actress. Aaron should have wished for her to not speak In the film. She really hampered the film and made it seem like it worse than what it was. It’s too bad.
Not really, if you think about all Jeremiah has on that land. Housing, supplies, water, etc... Why wouldn't they want it? Jeremiah has a better set up priobably than they do. Plus, since there is a long bitter grudge, the end of the world is the perfect place to end the dispute and take back what you have been fighting for just because.
